Oh my Raleigh, am so sorry to part ways with you

Today I sold off my Raleigh Elevation 20 to one chap who was eagerly wanting to buy it for his son. I even refused him once saying that 29er is giving me trouble and I need to use this one. But then felt bad to make him go away after keeping him waiting for an hour. I apologized to him later and then offered to give him after couple of weeks. And today finally around 1700 hrs IST I finally let it go. Here's a tribute to the bikey that graced my life in July 2014 (https://peeyush.livejournal.com/661510.html):

Prior to having you in my life, all my encounters with cycling ended with some sort of minor accidents/incidents. I remember messing up saddle of my friend's cycle during school days, hitting a small child while bringing cylinder on a cycle, and bruising my palms, my knees during the earlier learning periods, I never had confidence of owning a cycle of my own. Spotted you during clearance sale at Reliance Mart, spoke to mom 3/4 times trying to convince myself by speaking with her if I should and I could buy you from the store. Buying you was an emotional adventure as well. And I am thankful to that guy who kept his word and kept you aside for me despite all other cycles being bought by their own staff when there was delay owing to system error misquoting your price.

First ride home was difficult, scary and filled with nervousness. Second day ride to office was tiring, scary but everything settled down when I returned home riding you back. After that you were just part of my life that you slowly turned around. I loved having long rides with you. Kharghar ride was amazing and memorable. And I am sorry that I did end up buying Raleigh 29er followed by Triban 3.  There never was a need for any more cycle after you came in but I was brash, impulsive with those purchase decisions. Of all the three, you were and always remained favorite because you transformed my inner self. I will miss your presence and I hate myself for letting you go. I wish that you bring joy to that person and his child as much as you brought to me. Be safe my friend and may your rides be pleasant, joyful and memorable for ages to come. Godspeed, dear friend.
