If happiness is state of mind, shouldn't pain be also just a state of mind? Shouldn't there be a mere on/off switch to it also? Might be having. Just that we find it utterly difficult to flip it when our minds are clouded by emotions and chaos. Funny and yet sad ways of ours :)
I am leading a blessed life. Yet there were times when I was going overboard about thinking high of self feeling there are things I have seen which others haven't. I guess it happens with all those who are either very self-centered or are usually cut-off from other people. Then once in a while you meet those who have seen things which you can't even imagine in your worst nightmare. And everything around you comes crashing down. Not for bad. For good, actually.
But you don't even need to talk with someone to have these revelations. Don't talk. Just take lone walk among strangers in a crowd. Faces reveal what voices fail to express.
Why do you need to do anything like this but? Why can't you just live in those happy moments of yours all the time? If you could be happy all the time, well and good. But when you can't and quite often you think that you have seen the worst, may be it's time to peep into lives of others. I don't know if sharing own pain reduces it. But having learned about others pain has taught me how things have been good to me. If you are lucky, you will even meet true jewels who have stayed right irrespective of the pains or nonsenses they have gone through. Random inspirations that help you get up and deliver on odd days :)
