Yeah, I'm tired, and in pain, but Vinny has sufficently angered me enough with the educational system of today to rant for a little while.
Finals are coming soon. And with that sentence three quarters of america's youth break out in a cold sweat. Does anyone else find it kind of stupid that so much comes down to one measly little test. Just plain stupid if you ask me.
From the GEPA's to the ESPA's to the SAT's to just our plain tests, people are driving themselves off the edge studying and persisting to try and do better every year.
So what exactly is our educational system trying to do to us? Are they trying to teach us, or drive us insane?
Over the last few years our ever so bright president enforced his "NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT". What this does is take the school with the best students and reward them for teaching their students better.
So what's the problem with that?
Oh, only the fact that the schools that don't have the better educational supplies, and the newer textbooks, and the faster computers, and a high speed internet system, that can't teach their children better because they don't have the funding and the money are being punished for not being able to teach their children better and in turn are getting NO government funding.
Is that RIGHT?
After talking to Vinny and hearing that his guidence counselor has informed him both of the fact that students can't drop classes after the first day of class or they will recieve a "withdrawal failure" and that he has to take Spanish 4 because "colleges look better on students that take more then 2 years of a language".
First off, there is NO such thing as a "Withdrawal failure" in high-school.
Second off, Colleges look down upon a student that gets bad grades in a course. If he believes that he will not be able to keep up and is understanding that he will not do well next semester, why shouldn't he take a different class?
Bullshit!
This asshole of a "Guidence Counselor" just doesn't want to do paperwork for students withdrawing and wants to make his life easier by telling him to take the normal BULLSHIT TURN ME INTO A DRONE classes.
The whole educational system of America is complete bullshit.
Or is it just America that is complete Bullshit.
This government = CRAP!
In other news, I have officially fucked up my foot quite well. I think my middle toe on my right foot is broken, the nail on it was bent in half, and I have a pretty decent sized gash in my pinky and (how the hell do you describe that toe, uhh....) ring toe.
Who would figure that I'd hurt myself while doing a pencil off the diving board.
I find alot of comedy in that.
My face is sunburned to hell. Damn you sun!
