Notice on HC Band
Dear potential juniors,
for your information (in case you're lost), band practice for HC College Band for the year 2009 is as follows:
Wednesday 3-6pm (school usually ends at 1pm)
Friday 5-8pm (school usually ends at 4pm)
* Practices may increase in intensity as it approaches concerts and competitions.
** There may be sectionals on other days depending on your SL.
*** There is national anthem every morning, assemble at 7.15am. You may skip it if you do not want CIP hours.
*IMPORTANT*
By the way. for the main practices on Wed and Fri, our dearest, handsomest, macho, hairy conductor Mr Leng is usually late for at least 30 minutes.
Fret not, he usually lets us off 1 hour in advance because he needs to go on facebook he is concerned that we do not have enough time to finish our homework and that we are hungry, sleepy or tired.

Where is band prac held?
It is usually held at SALT, a 10-15 minutes walk from HC college band (store) room. However, if you walk as fast as Pei San, you will be there in no time at all.
How do I get there?
No worries, you have plenty of helpful seniors around. Just assemble at the college band room 30 minutes before the commencement of each band prac and they will walk you there. You may keep your instruments there as well. However, if you choose to be late for every single band prac, no need to worry! There are plenty of seniors who are always late.
If you are good with direction, you can walk yourself! Why not? Just walk towards the direction of Poolside and you will end up at SALT. However, SALT has been know to have many random doors locked at random times so it might take a while for you to find the band room.
What is the code for the lock?!?!
Unfortunately I do not remember as well, but I'm sure there are plenty of kind people around who will enlighten you (:
What if I am hungry during band?
We have very caring welfare officers, Guan Teng and Zong Xian who will solve all your hunger problems! The former has a habit of bringing food wherever she goes (including the science lab!) while the latter is sure to devour every single bit of leftovers and is best described as an eating machine (all the more you should fear that your food is eaten up).
What happens during a typical band practice?
Your dedicated student conductors, Valerie and Rosalind, will take you through warm ups. Be warned though, that both are pretty short and not very easy to spot. What you can look out for is that one is very gay while the other is very sexy.
After which, Mr Leng will arrive and take you through a number of pieces.
At the end of band prac, Tian Hui and Sarah will most probably bring you through a series of announcements and finally announce "Band Dismissed!" the usual way, for those who have been in NYCB.
Additionally, on Friday nights, there will usually be band dinner, at none other than - KAP. This is due to the fact that band prac ends quite late and all other food places are closed. However, if you happen to live opposite KAP like Meiqi, you can choose an assortment of random people like Sun Ran, Guan Teng, Lorraine and Lionel to walk you home. Don't let them see your cat by the way.
