[Tim is still in the CES, and the angle would indicate he's on the roof of one of those buildings. Because this is what Robins of all generations do. They climb buildings and stand on roofs.]

The staffers are gone.

[He sounds so tired, and the circles under his eyes are intense, but he isn't booking it out of there yet.]The door showed up, and ( Read more... )

[Dick hadn't even realized it had happened at first. One minute, he'd been on the bridge with Capa and John, and the next, he was in his cabin, still in his Nightwing suit, sans mask, still feeling like he'd been beat to shit, maybe with some blood crusted on his face from the cut on his cheek he hadn't quite gotten around to treating.

What the fuck had just happened.

But as soon as he got his bearings, he was racing up on deck, to the CES, somehow managing to draw on some energy reserve he hadn't used up yet and as soon as he saw people were leaving, raced inside to find Tim.

It didn't take long. He called to him before he got close. Be prepared for a hug, buddy.]

Tim!

[Oh he was prepared. He was already heading out, rubbing his eyes and rolling his shoulders, because falling face first into the grass was not a thing he wanted to experience. He looked up when he heard his name, and offered a tired smile.]

If you tackle me for a hug, I will punch you when I have the urge to lift my arms again.

[Yeah, Dick is just going to ignore that in favor of running over and hugging him. It's not a tackle though, and after the initial squeeze, it's actually pretty gentle, just in case Tim was hurt. He's just really glad to see you're alive and in one piece. :|]

[Okay as long as he doesn't lose his feet, we're good. Tim's hugging back in a very tired fashion, patting Dick's back.] Okay. I'm here and in mostly one piece. [Scratches and bruises and cuts and scrapes do not count.] You gonna tell me what happened now?

[He hugs him a little tighter for a moment before pulling back, putting a hand gently on his shoulder.] Sure. Can you walk? How are you feeling?

I can walk. I'm tired and I could use a drink. But I can walk. So start talking. [Because he is starting his walking.]

[Dick followed, but before answering took out his emergency kit from one of the compartments of his gauntlets before reaching in and handing Tim the last of his water.]

Here.

[Honestly, he wasn't sure how to start explaining what he'd been through. It was still hard to understand how long they'd actually been there, and he was tired and sore, and he really didn't want to revisit some of it.] Uh. Don't try to find the bridge unless you have to?

Oh, yes. [Water. He'd kept very little for himself in the end, so when it was offered he tugged off the top and had to convince himself not to guzzle. Which is hard when you're really thirsty.]

...Is this gonna be a thing we're not going to talk about?

Slow. [Might as well remind you to actually do it before you make yourself sick. He kept walking, making sure Tim could keep pace with him, although really, he was too beat to find the energy to go anywhere too fast.]

No, it's just... been a really long three days. It has been three days, right? [Time had gotten weird for them, and it was hard to wrap his mind around if they'd only been in the bowels of the ship for a few hours or a week.]

I think so? [Tim didn't even bother to wipe his mouth when he pulled back for a breath, because water feels good everywhere, oh god.] It feels like a month. Or a couple hours, I don't know.

Yeah, tell me about it. Slow, you're just going to get sick. [Oh god why are we not out of here yet, Dick is just doggedly heading for the exit.]

Well, first we cut into the wall, and everything seemed fine, but we got attacked by crew members, a freaky monster dog, the walls and floors started melting in one room - that's when we lost O'Brien, he turned around to try resetting the Barge - and eventually we cut into a room that was- everything was painted red, there was this creepy phone that kept ringing, it was supposed to be an out if we didn't want to go further I guess, and this answering machine voice coming from god knows where. Messages started writing on the wall, [lol guess what they said. :|] and then we were attacked by a swarm of rats guarding the key to the bridge. We got the door open-

[HEAVY SIGH shit he's tired. But hooray we're at the door and Dick is just tugging it open.] And then Flagg was on the bridge, which looked like a wrecking team had gone through it. John shot him in the head, he turned into a swarm of ( ... )

[Holy hell. Tim just listened, even stopped his guzzling to listen. By the time he walked through the door, his eyebrows were up and he stopped, turning to look at Dick. He even reached out, putting a hand on his shoulder.]

Sounds like you had a worse time than me. [It felt a little like Bludhaven all over again but...no, not going to share that.]

[Dick just smiled a little wanly, reaching out to ruffle his hair. Really, he was fine, it was a hell of a lot less traumatic than other stuck he'd lived through, and the fact that Tim was alive and okay was enough to make the rest of it really not matter that much. Basically, it had been worth it.] I'm alright. What happened with you guys?

Rain, wind, monsters in the dark and just out of sight. Nygma was caught in one. Getting him out was interesting. [He waves off the ruffling in favor of rubbing his eyes.] It would have been more fun with my suit.

[Teaches us right for not just wearing them all the time, right bro. :c] What kind of monsters?

[He put a hand on his shoulder and carefully started guiding him back towards the stairs.]

[P. much. :c] I don't know. The worst part was I couldn't really see them. [Yes, mother, he is walking. He will sleep. Eventually.]
