All right. Things we've learned this week:

  • Beating people up is wrong.
  • Shaking hands can lead to false memories when you're faced with someone like Barron Sharpe.
  • Revisiting your childhood isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Spring has started out with a bang, hasn't it?

[Private to Sylar]

You're really good with kids.

I would say it depends heavily on who you're beating up.

Let's say for the general masses. [Nope, they don't belong to that group at all. :c]

...So. The flood.

Was 'tall' really that high on your list of hopes for the future?

It was between number three and five at any given time. I didn't always know karate. [People were jerks before he figured out how to master social circles.]

I think I just wanted to be thinner when I was that age. Blame the mass media.

Were you okay? You were gone when I came back from checking up on Kirk.

Will do.

Yeah, I was fine. Sylar figured out who I was and met up with me. [Paaaause] He was surprisingly good with kids.

'Figured out'? Yeah, I guess he had to work through the foot-long list of everyone else I'm sleeping with.

...

Huh. Maybe he ate a babysitter's brain one time.

...Okay, bad word choice. Realized who I was. He didn't even question it?

Hah, hah. I had a pretty okay time with him.

Good.

Did -

[That sentence was going to launch into 'did Cissie say anything about how I was kind of unnecessarily nice and let her stay in my room for a few days' but on second thoughts? Let's just let that go forever.]

Never mind. And you seem okay, so I'm guessing any unexpected trauma didn't last all that long.

[But. But. He likes to know things. And he's quiet for a moment because really, if he can't tell her stuff about himself, why are they dating?]

Mostly okay. I forgot how it was back then.

Lonely. [Paaauuuse] My parents were away, a lot. They left me with our housekeeper. I never really got along too well with her.

I'm sorry.

This is why I hate floods like this. The version you remember's always better than the one you actually lived through.

Pretty much. I mean, what I remembered was mostly good. It's like I only held onto the memories that made me remember them in a certain light.

Human condition, I guess. Last time it happened to me, I became myself maybe a year after I got my powers? And...wow. I remembered being pretty much back to normal after a few months and not being that much of a whiny little brat.

[Read: I do not remember being that utterly miserable about having superpowers and being green :c]

The idea of going back and making things better is always so tempting, but you usually don't consider what it's actually like to be that you again.

So basically, that whole thing sucks and if it comes around again, I hope we both get passed over.
