I know a lot of guys who would love the way people act here, but this is going overboard. How many weddings and proposed marriages can there possibly be in three days? Three days isn't long enough.
Stop drinking things with names like 'Love at first sight.' That should be a huge warning label in and of
How are you fairing? I dare say love in this place is not quite what I had imagined.. for I find myself in love with no one, and yet there is another in love with me. Though Dr. Hix believes that it is perhaps an accident of magics.
I do hope it recovers when we return. I must admit, however, that some deserve the happiness they had found here.
If you are as in need of an escape as I, would you care to join me for dinner? Though the environment would demand affection, I ask only as an acquaintance. Or a friend, perhaps.
[And that evening, prompt as he could manage - which was easy, when you weren't stopped my goons robbing convenience stores - Tim found himself near the fountain - which he stayed away from, just in case Irene wanted to jump into his lap again.]

[Elizabeth spotted Tim with relative ease, moving through the crowd toward him quickly. She was dressed in something relatively modern which she had obtained with the help of Wichita. Even ankle-length, it felt monstrously indelicate, but it seemed the best defense in hiding from Draco.]
"Tim." [She greeted him, dropping into a slight curtsy, which was actually rather awkward given the material and cling of her dress. Her hands were clasped gently in front of her as soon as she had finished.] "Are you still able to share dinner with me? I do not want to vie for your time if you are consumed with obligations."

[Tim turned as he saw her approach, eyebrows jumping as he took in what she was wearing. Jeez. When she curtseyed, he tried a bow again, still a little uncomfortable, but he could get used to it.]
No, no, I'm free, [he said as he straightened, smiling a little.] My only obligation is right here. I mean, not that I see it like an obligation, I want to have dinner with you, uh.
"I understand your meaning well enough." [She replied with a smile, showing she was not in the least bit offended or confused.]
"Shall we?" [She motioned to a myriad of restaurants nearby. All had various romantic themes and she was thus glad that she and Tim had established exactly what this was and that, unlike Draco, she would not need to fear for her maidenhood. Just to be certain, she asked with a somewhat teasing manner.] "Am I right in assuming you are not in any way affectionate toward me and have no desire to be married?"
[Tim worked on not choking around his tongue as he started toward that line of restaurants with her.] Uh, no, no. I'm not planning on marriage for a long time. [If ever, with his life.]
Besides, there's...sort of someone at home. That I, uh - well it's...dumb, really, never mind. [He needed to wear smaller shoes, they'd be easier to get out of his mouth.]
"Oh, please. If you are comfortable speaking of it, I do desire to hear about her." [This town was actually making Elizabeth a bit nostalgic and she missed her home more now than prior. Perhaps it was that the village was the closest thing she had seen to her own time since boarding the Barge, or perhaps that the feelings she had held for Mr Darcy were emerging more so in this town as well. Though she felt silly talking about that when half the people on this ship had read her life's story anyway.]
[Tim shrugged one shoulder. Right, right. He just had to tell the story...without mentioning the ninjas, the hits - the hits he ordered - the League of Assassins, the Council of Spiders...Yeah, that would go well.]
Uh - well, there's this girl. Tam. And she...well we met pretty recently. I've seen her around, but - I mean, anyway, she was...in some trouble, and I helped her out. [Helped her out, saved her life...whatever.] We were heading home when I came here.
"Why would you leave her?" [She asked without intent to offend him, not asking to elaborate on their meeting or the like because she could sense some of his hesitation.]
[Elizabeth motioned toward one restaurant which seemed less potentially horrifying than the rest. By now, she had gotten somewhat used to the hearts that flittered around them and, knowing what this was, was the most relaxed she had been in days.] "Perhaps here?"
[Tim nodded and headed for the restaurant, opening the door for her when they arrived.] It's...a little complicated, [he said, shrugging and not quite meeting her eyes.]
When I go home, the Admiral can send me back about when I left from, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem, I think. But I need to be here. I mean, on the Barge.

I've been, uh, okay. Besides the woman I didn't know deciding my lap was a good place to sit, yesterday.

Oh - yeah, sure! That'd be nice. As friends. One of these days, I will learn not how to sound like an idiot.

Thank you, sir. Do you know where the market begins, near the fountain? Would you be available to meet there this evening?
Reply
Yeah, I've seen it. I'll be there.

I look forward to it.
