After some thinking I have decided that for the time being I won't be members-only locking entries.  Thanks to all of you who voted and commented, it really helped me make a decision.  I know it the opposite of what many of you voted for, but the reasoning for the opposite, to keep the entries public proved to happen.  I've gotten comments on entries that I made over 2/3 weeks ago, and I don't think its fair for people to have to join to see entries because they missed a "deadline" by a few days maybe.
