During the Great Flood of 2009 I was working in Maryland the whole week while everyone I know was somehow affected by the torrent of water that fell from the sky. Be it by water leaking into their basement, water on the road blocking their paths home, trees blocking their paths home or some other unnatural natural phenomenon. I say this lightly but I actually wish I could have seen it b/c I have lived here all my life, never witnessing anything close to the damage reported by friends, family and news sources. Regardless our home was unscathed and most everyone I knew were fine as well, or so I thought.
I came home Friday evening and went out to a kick ass birthday party came home, woke up Saturday morning with multitudes of things to do. As we were leaving the house I noticed something odd about my car. The interior of the windows were covered with condensation....hmmmm. It was raining, we were leaving so I didn't think anything of it. Ashley and I got up Sunday and it was beautiful outside. It was a perfect day to hop on my scooter and ride for a little while since it had been almost two weeks without any saddle time. I gear up, kiss Ashley, promise I will be careful, walk outside open my car door to grab my tank bag and SURPRISE!!!!! No it was not butt sex......It was green, brown and black mold fest covering the upholstery and interior of my car. Not to mention a funky smell of butt and feet like scents rushing into my nose with a quickness. Now I know why there was so much condensation in my car on Saturday. Fuck.....it's all I could think or say for a moment.
On Monday I call Geico, explained the situation to the adjuster and made a claim for my car. They had a tow truck pick it up at no cost and take it to Cherokee Ford for appraisal b/c Cherokee Ford is one of their premier repair centers. I go to work Monday night, come home sleep, then go to my Dad's to help my Stepmom with an issue on her computer. The appraiser from Geico calls while I am there and he states he wants to total it but had to get approval from his boss. I get the call back today and it is officially a total loss. I was told that I would have a check in hand no later than Monday but the shit part is, I will be in Maryland for work most of next week. So I will have to work that out with them as everything comes to a head. Needless to say I am in the market for a new(to me) vehicle and I decided to get a Jeep Wrangler....Once the settlement arrives and I decide on which Jeep I want, I will update this but for now, here is the fungal carnage. Enjoy!
