It's been awhile

Well, it has been a super long time since I updated this. And as I was reading Rachael's I realized that I felt like typing some stuff in here...

So here goes:

This semester so far has gone very nicely. It is almost difficult for me to get my work done because I get to see everyone so much. I feel like I am living my freshman year over again, or having the fabled senior year that we are all supposed to get but never do because of student teaching, work, life, etc. It is nice. I am glad that I have even more friends than I did before and I get the opportunity to spend time individually with people and have meaningful, intelligent, conversation. I appreciate it wholeheartedly and I am very thankful to have such wonderful friends.

That being said:

I just put in all my certification stuff and now I am free to apply for teaching jobs, and although this was the end goal of 'the Saint Rose Experience' for me, the thought terrifies me. I subconsciously have been stalling, and finally doing it was a giant step for someone in denial like me. I love my job, but I realized I don't want to cash peoples' checks until I die. I guess have to light that spark that I had when I was student teaching, and ignore the fact that grad school does absolutely NOTHING (or hasn't so far) to get me any more prepared to actually teach a class than I was in grad school. I have to stop feeling so removed from something that is so important to me.

Next week is spring break. While many people go to Cancun, or even do things like stay home and relax, I am choosing to work full time this week. I am considering the fact that I never get to work, and I am going to have to pay student loans and someday, after the Achieva dies, a new car. So, a raucous HOORAY to spring break, such as it is.

Carolyn and I (and hopefully Cassi) are going to see Phantom of the Opera tonight. I have a headache and a cold, but Carolyn assures me that I will forget about while watching the movie. I hope she is right.

Until then, loves.
