I have to leave in a few minutes for rehearsal, but I we had an extra long dinner so I decided to try to sum up my experience thus far.
Band seems to be very up and down. We work our asses off...it's insane. Being part of a college marching band is possibly the nerdiest thing but also the sweetest thing I've ever done. Right about now, it seems that the real nerds are starting to seperate from the kids who are just in band to have a good time and be cool and such..thank God for that second group of people. Tomorrow is the last day of camp, and I am soooo ready to have it end. I want classes to start so I can start getting into some sort of schedule. I haven't had enough time to set up my printer or anything.
My address is different than what I gave out to some people before I left; apparently they changed the way they receive mail recently. Here it is (just in case):

The traditions that the band has are intense as well. The first night all the rookies had a horribly awkward "party" outside the building that looks like Hogwarts. The next night...well, the next night was fucking awesome. Band buddies getting the rookies drunk is the best idea ever and I'm deeply upset that it was never used in high school. Yesterday, as I was packing up at the end of rehearsal, my section leaders came up to me (one of which has the same birthday as me) and asked me to join the rest of the seniors for Power Hour. I am so excited not only for the end of camp, but also to get myself fucked up with the sweet band folk.
Alright, I have to go..otherwise I'll be late. Hope everyone else is having a good time with their first few days.
