When the tones are set off I know my Bothers will be there,
Wether it be a structure fire or a Car wreck,
It dosent matter what it is I Know my brothers will be there watching out for one another,
When the Fire Angels are Dancing above my head,
I know that I will continue safely, for my brothers will not let me fall.
One by one we work side by side,
each and every day to make sure that our community is safe,
and after every call we return to the staiton,
put up the trucks, and sit around for a few ,
and I know we dont say it but we are gratefull for one another,
Because if it werent for brothers we wouldnt have a Chance in a burning building or whatever it might be ,
But when the tones are set off I know my brothers will be there.

I'll Show You A Volunteer

Show me a person who spends endless hours in training w/o pay, And, I'll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person where a cry for help brings split-second dispatch, And, I'll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person who is devastated when lives are lost or maimed, And, I'll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person who is graciously welcomed as a next-door neighbor, And, I'll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person who often takes more ridicule than compliments, And, I'll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person whose car is garaged w/ the grille facing out, And, I'll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person who sacrifices home life, T.V....even tender moments, And, I'll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person who may be asked to give more than just dedication, And, I'll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person who is asked to give more... and more... and more, And, I'll show you a volunteer.

Volunteer 24/7

The pager rings out, “there’s work to be done”.
We all know, someone’s dialed 9-1-1.

In the heat of day, or the dead of night.
It is never a good time, to start the fight.

Always willing to go, without a thought.
Hoping you’ve learned, from the training taught.

House fire, car accident, or VSA.
We will not falter, or be led astray.

With all our hearts pounding, and “air packs” donned.
Smelling adrenaline, ….brotherly bond.

The scene could be dark, without a sound.
No smoke, or body, ever be found.

Mayhem and chaos, the next roster call.
Flames and death greet us, we’ve seen it all.

Roll up the hose and gear, or pack the “jaws”
Trying to determine, “what was the cause?”

All in a days work, and always without a fear.
From your local firefighter….a volunteer.

What Is A Fireman?

He’s the guy next door - a man’s man with the memory of a little boy.
He has never gotten over the excitement of engines and sirens and danger.
He’s a guy like you and me with warts and worries and unfulfilled dreams.
Yet he stands taller than most of us. He’s a fireman. He puts it all on the line when the bell rings.
A fireman is at once the most fortunate and the least fortunate of men.
He’s a man who saves lives because he has seen too much death.
He’s a gentle man because he has seen the awesome
power of violence out of control.
He’s responsive to a child’s laughter because his arms have held
too many small bodies that will never laugh again.
He’s a man who appreciates the simple pleasures of life -
hot coffee held in numb, unbending fingers - a warm bed for bone
and muscle compelled beyond feeling - the camaraderie of brave men -
the divine peace and selfless service of a job well done in the name of all men.
He doesn’t wear buttons or wave flags or shout obscenities.
When he marches, it is to honor a fallen comrade.
He doesn’t preach the brotherhood of man.
He lives it.

When Good Men Cry

Have you ever looked into a Fireman's eyes and seen the pain?
Have you heard the compassion in his voice?
This is a man who, like you, cherishes his family and home.
It is his calling and his instinct to risk it all to save others.
So when you see them pass, say a prayer for them, as they are on
their way to one of many battles in the ongoing war of "Life & Death."
Each battle is met with honor hoping that fate will be kind and not
ask of him the supreme Sacrifice!!
So do not be surprised when you see a child hurt, or a loved one lost,
a home destroyed or a hero buried, to see... good men cry !!
