Okay. Right now I'm working as a "technical writer" slash "administrative assistant" slash "account manager" for a tiny ISO certification company in Houston. The owner/CEO/my boss is a smart lady, but she has NO IDEA about Texas employment law. I challenged her on it so that I could get overtime for the 12-hour shifts she expects from her people, and got knocked down to part time because of it.
That's okay. I'm starting a new job on Tuesday. She can FUCK OFF.
But here's the thing.
When I first got there, the woman who was working bookkeeping/admin (hired as a bookkeeper, given administrative duties with some bookkeeping) was cool. As. Shit. We friended, and then boss FIRED her for something that was NOT her fault.
This Thursday (Day after tomorrow), I'm acting as a witness on my friend's behalf...against my current boss...the hearing starts at 7:30 a.m., and my shift starts at 8.
Repeatedly I've wanted to quit this job, even before I got the new job I'm starting next week. Even now that I've put in my notice (effective at noon on Friday...the end of my shift), I still have daily compulsions to go into her office, tell her where she can shove her overworking, badly representative job descriptions, and illegal definition of "contract work" and stomp out in a storm of fire. Friends (and Steve) have talked me down from burning bridges with the other folks there I've made friends with (whom I'm supporting now, doing things they don't have time for), but...still. FUCK THIS BITCH.
I really want her to get stomach cancer. I heard on a movie that it was basically the most painful form of dying, and I kind of think she deserves it for how badly she treats her associates. Question is: Do I Stick Around After The Hearing, or do I just Tell Her Where To Stick It?
