Falcon was rather bewildered by this new student and her exceedingly random knowledge, and was therefore just as puzzled when Bob showed up at his office, with a plate of tiny cupcakes.
"8th unbirthday...oh." He was about to ask where on the internet she'd learned his birthday so he could sue the website, but she seemed really...spacey, and he wasn't sure he wanted to further this converstion. Falcon settled for eyeing the cupcakes suspiciously.
...They were really cute.
He didn't look up until she started humming. Then he cocked an eyebrow. Billy Joel, huh? "Got nothing on Angry Young Man. Guess that's a little harder to hum though."
Oh, so he was knowledgeable about the great musicians? That made her a bit more curious. Or perhaps she knew this all along and that is why she was here in the first place. It was hard to tell. Bob gave him a small knowing smile.
"That totally is! Trying to hum that piano can be a bummer. I'd rather sing Uptown Girl!, it's way more upbeat!"
Bob kind of confused him, but Falcon was swiftly finding it was more of curiosity than anything else. Tentatively, he took two cupcakes, setting one on the edge of the desk as an offering to the girl, and slowly peeling the paper off the other.
He looked her up and down for a few moments before speaking again. "Top three favorite bands of all time, go."
"U2, Styx and the Genesis!" she said without missing a beat. "But the Police and Metallica are close! I love Master of Puppets! I went to most of their concerts!"
She got up and took the cupcake in her hands, quickly peeling it off and dumping the entire thing in a single gulp. "Thank you!" she replied, her mouth full.
"Haha that's nothing!" she replied, completely ignoring his question about her age. "I saw A Midsummer Night's Dream when it was first performed at The Theatre!....but the music wasn't as good back then. And no one took out lighters during the final performance either."
Falcon froze mid-bite. These. Pokemon. He would never ever understand them.
At this point, he wasn't sure he wanted to. Bob had incredible taste in music and the Captain was not going to ruin that by dwelling on the fact that this so-called student seemed to be kind of timeless and also know random facts about him like when his birthday was and that he really liked strawberry cupcakes.
He needed to derail the conversation before it got trippier. "How do you feel about The Clash?"
"They were pretty good!" She had settled back into his couch again. "Totally not as tubular as U2, but I loooove Should I Stay or Should I Go"." She thought back before adding, "I think they had their best years when Topper Headon was their drummer, that's for sure. What about you? You didn't tell me your favorite three bands yet!"
"London Calling." He challenged, unwrapping another cupcake.
"Uh...Guns N' Roses, Stone Temple Pilots aaaand...Tom Petty. Sucks that the 80s was so full of one-hit wonders though. I liked the Talking Heads for a while. Stuff like that."
Of course, it was difficult to settle on just three bands. "Frampton. Queen. Bowie. All the staples, basically."
"Well they can't call be winners in the music." she retaliated with an exaggerated flourish. "I still feel bad about Milli Vanilli. That was pretty bummer situation for everyone involved."
She did grin at his mention of Bowie. "Bowie is a pretty nice guy," she said nodding approvingly, not adding much else. There were some things best left unsaid for now. Instead, she tentatively started to tap her feet and hands.
"Only too true." He said. Falcon wasn't sure why he was finding the girl so endearing. Every fiber of his being should have loathed her--the enthusiasm, the vapidity, the apparent disregard for space and time, the...fashion sense.
But they could carry on a conversation. "You met him?"
Open or Closed?: Open!
"Happy 8th Unbirthday day of this year, Falcon!" Bob said, as she let herself in and put down a tiny tray of miniature cupcakes on his desk.

Oh god they were really cute cupcakes but...
"Thank you?" He said, a bit confused. "Bob?"

"It is, yeah." His gaze fell to the plate she'd put on his desk. "Uhm...what are the cupcakes for?"

"Your 8th unbirthday of the year, silly! I made them chocolate chip and strawberry this time!" She then began to hum a song.

Oh yes. They were. Not to mention the fact that the cupcakes were pretty good.
"Master of Puppets? Geez, that came out when I was in middle school and you saw them live? How old are you?"
