Discomfort

A couple of times this week, I have seen a fellow in my town as I run my errands before getting on a bus. He's big-set - fat, not muscle - and greasy-lookin', and he parks himself outside the supermarket to ask passersby for change while his equally big girlfriend is off doing I don't know what.

The first time, he was on a bench and asked me for some money, which I declined politely. On my way back past, his lady had rejoined him and he looked at me, muttered something to her, and they both stared as I went by.

The second time, he was leaning against the wall next to the supermarket and stared as I approached and went in. I left via the carpark exit.

Maybe I'm imagining it, but he seems to have a mean look in his eye, and stupid + mean + big is not a good combination when you're a wee lady who seems to have earned the dislike of a body. I feel quite intimidated by and nervous of this fellow.

Anyway, I hope he leaves town soon.
