Question of the Stephen King fans:

While I was in Junior High and early High School I read the first three books of the Dark Tower series. I waited impatiantly for Wizard and Glass, then bought it as soon as it came out. While reading the first four books I found that having already read The Stand helped a little, but probably wasn't absolutely necessary (at least the Super Flu cleared out of the air before they passed through that realm). I also found that having read The Talisman helped a bit, being a parallel Cliff's Notes version of the Dark Tower series. Then after the years past, I read The Wolves of the Calla about six months ago. I realized the first four books were to far in the past to continue on the Song of Susanna. From what I learned in The Wolves of the Calla, I found that not having read 'Salems' Lot hurt me when it came to reading that particular book. I started reading 'Salems' Lot about six months ago, got busy, quit, then I started over a few days ago, I'm more than 1/2 way through now.

My question is: What other books should I read before I start over on the Dark Tower series? I have all seven books on my shelf waiting for me to start over. I've read a lot of Stephen King, but not everything, I've seen most of the movies that are derived from his writing, but we all know very few of the movies do any justice to his books. The Green Mile did some justice to his writing, even though it was a little different, but that's one of the few (of the ones I've seen movie and read book on anyways).

On another note, I think the copy of 'Salems' Lot that I'm reading is a first editon. It's hard back, was printed in 74 I think it was, and the dust jacket was very brittle, it actually crumbled in half, but the pages and the book are still good, just yellow.

BTW:
I'm really looking forward to the Marvel Comics adaptation of the series. I would love to see a cell shade computer animated cartoon series. (please read this Mr. King)
