Snow Day!
Actually, it's not really a snow day, but an ice day. We had some snow yesterday, followed by freezing rain and sleet, with ice overnight. The school district called school off early, most likely because one of our district school buses was involved in an accident after school yesterday afternoon. It slid off the road coming down a hill in a rural part of the county and then overturned. Seven kids and the driver were on the bus, with several being transported to the hospital with minor injuries. There'sbeen a huge outcry because the district didn't shut schools down earlier, but really, it's damned if you do and damned if you don't. You can't please everyone and no matter what, someone would have been angry.
We're still getting some ice, but my husband went to work and said the roads aren't all that bad. But I'm glad to have an unexpected day off all the same!
