I went to DragonCon yesterday with my mom and sister. I'm not going back today or tomorrow because we have plans, but I think that next year we're going all four days. It makes my mom feel less like a weirdo, or at least that's what she said. I wore my Spock shirt, so I got comments on that all day long and it was a bit tiring by 7:00.
We got there a bit before ten and got a good spot for the parade. I hadn't seen the DragonCon Parade before- I've always gone on Friday or... whatever.
And it began! There was this lady playing the bagpipes and everything.
I liked the guy with the flying saucer. Yayyy.
These guys hopped on one foot all the way for the durance of the parade. It was crazy.
Of course, the Monty Python and the Holy Grail people...
PIRATES!
I am convenced it was actually Johnny Depp dressed up as a guy that was dressed up as Johnny Depp. Agree with me?
Superheros!
Rainbow Brite!!!
The 6Flags man! *hums 6Flags song*
Evil robot car... thing. Seriously. It had teeth and everything.
Whoo-hoo
All of Middle Earth decided to show up as well.
Klingons! On bikes! Yayyyy
"We are the Borg. Resistance is Futile!" Actually, this guy was also a staff member. We asked him a few questions at one point or something.
All of the scary folks...
Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!
Peace! ^_^
Dr. Who!!! <333
Stargate!!!!!!!!!!!
All of the crew was there...
And the Stargate Atlanta folks. Their sign says "Save the show- see our booth."
And then we began with StarWars.
The Jedi and Cheap Clones. Hahaha.
As always, there were a billion and one storm troopers... and a whole load of Vaders.
Then the parade was over. We went to registration (we didn't have our SAT passes yet). We stood in line for two and a half hours! It was awful-tastic. But whatever, we got them.
Then we rushed off to see George Takei.
We really didn't stay for long.
We ran into Chelsea and Joe, poor thing, she was shaking. :(
We ate lunch. We crossed the street to the Mariott and bought Stargate stuff. We signed the Stargate Petition. My Stargate Tshirt says "I've Ascended, Have You?" it's great.
Can you tell that we're obsessed yet? Oh, just wait- I haven't gotten to that part. Here it comes...
We scampered back over to the Hyatt just in time to see the Stargate Panel. As for characters, there was Bahl, the Ancient girl from that one episode of Atlantis, some guy I wasn't sure of, Dr. Weir, Taela, That Scientist Guy, General Hammond, another guy I wasn't sure of, and the councelor lady from Atlantis. Now I just named them left to right, that's how they are in the pictures.
They were so funny it was fantastic! It was the best thing that happened to me all day long, by far! It was great! *giggles*
Christopher Judge, the guy that plays Teal'c, couldn't be there... so I got a picture of this Teal'c cosplayer instead.
yay.
So after that we went and hung out in the StarWars costume contest for a bit. It was pretty cool. Some of those costumes were amazing. Then we went to the art exhibit, where I grabbed thousands of businesscards just for inspiration. But there was this one guy that had these really intricate space colonies carved out of acrylic. It was so awsome. Really. I wish I could have taken pictures. Oh well. Then we went to the SciFi Channel Report Card panel and listened to everyone complain. They did have a point- SciFi fans and wrestling fans alike, all hate ECW being on SciFi. We couldn't stand all of the complaining about it and left. By then it was like 7:30 and we were all tired and Jenilee's feet hurt. So we came home.
The End
