Yeah, my word count was at a standstill for a week now but I've figured out what to do! See, I was having all sorts of issues in real life and completely could not focus on NaNo or I've realized it was more that I could not focus on the Civil War NaNoWriMo novel I was writing. So, I am using characters from my NaNo two years ago and writing something completely different from the War. Just too much to focus on and needing to get right for me to use it during NaNoWriMo. I was freaking out and now, well, since I've started writing the new stuff today I am doing TONS better! No battles and lines to figure out, no generals to memorize, no regiment names, no old roads to get right, nothing like that in this one and my word count is moving right along! Thank heavens! Oh! And the best part! I can use the words I've written because the main character is a writer and I can use my original Civil War words since I wrote it in November, as something that she writes! *beams* Yes, checked with my ML and she said it was a great idea! Count as of right now, including what I'd had before... 6585. And really, I've only been writing for like an hour and a half or so without the distraction of the internet! Yay!
Okay, only have about another 45 minutes or so to write until I have to shower and get the kids off the bus and home from school so I must write, write, write! *waves*
Happy Writing!
Deanna
Edited to add that I just did another word count and I'm at 7365. *beams* Yes, a much less stressful story that I am writing now and I need much less focus instead of worrying about battles, generals, and all sorts of things like that!
