dont leave the village?

Last night was... interesting. Ari, Joe, Troy and I were at Troys house, and I went for a walk with Joe and had a long interesting discussion about women. Then we all decided we'd go see The Village at RTC, however Joe wanted to see Harold and Kumar, but since he got Lauren to go with us to The Village he wasn't particularly upset about it.
Ever hear something about something that gets you hyped up to see it, or have a past experience that makes you look forward to something? Well forget what you know about Signs or Sixth Sense, M. Night Shyamalan (whos first name we decided is Murph) managed to have a good script going until about 40 minutes into the movie where it's obvious that he was too plastered to write a coherent plot. The Village manages to get your hopes up and then toss them into a gutter several times. The previews don't really scratch the surface of the plot, and if you're expecting a thrilling Signs-esque film, you're in for a dissapointment. The beginning is promising, with mostly dull parts and then you think it's getting stepped up when the village has an encounter with the "creatures" living in the woods outside the village. When it is revealed that the creatures are just the village elders wearing suits to scare the village occupants out of leaving the village, your faith in what could be an exciting movie is tossed aside, and it's all down hill from there, until once again your hopes are picked up when the main character, Blind McIcan'tsee has an encounter with one of the creatures in the woods, you think, maybe this could get better. Then once you find out it's just a retard in a suit (literally) you lose faith completely, and the rest of the movie is just crap. It's a half assed love story with a weird twist ending.
If you like boring love stories, see The Village.
If you are expecting an exciting thriller, I've had more excitement taking a dump.
