Am I a Fangirl?

I’m trying to pay down my credit card bill again. Wait, what do I mean “again”? It’s more like still, since it is a never-ending battle. Especially since I just put another $100 on it in the past two days. teehee I couldn’t help myself. At Waldenbooks it is Buy 4 & Get the 5th Book Free on all books, so of course I go in to buy 3 but come out with 5, since I need to take advantage of the deal. I did this twice (on Tuesday and Wednesday), so that was $50 from my bank account and $50 on my credit card. Then this morning I bought the Love Hina: Perfect Collection at Amazon for $50 (on my credit card, of course), but I can explain it, really. I wanted it, the list price is about $150, and they finally had it used for only $49.99. It’s nine disks! And has all the episodes! And the movies! And...and...yeah...

I recently spent a boring morning at work going through all the recommendations I have at http://www.amazon.com and rating stuff I own. I happened to buy this book, Only the Ring Finger Knows, a little while ago and really liked it. It’s shonen-ai/yaoi (boy love) manga; this one is not explicit at all and is just very romantic themed (more shonen-ai than yaoi). So, I rated it on Amazon along with some other manga I own, like Eerie Queerie. Eerie Queerie started out as this ghost story and ended up being about the love triangle of these three guys. I bought it for the ghosts and stayed for the love. Anyway, after rating those two items my recommendations are inundated with yaoi titles. Whenever I sign in it suggests that I buy about 10 more yaoi titles each time. It’s insane! It’s like the other 400 ratings I’ve done mean nothing when compared to those two books I bought. It’s not that I don’t appreciate the suggestions, since some of those books look good, but it’s still a little disturbing when it’s the only thing that shows up.
