I'm sort of getting back into the swing of all things Sims. Baby Lilly Simself is on a decent sleep schedule and is, for the most part, a very easy baby to have. Keith and I are very, very thankful.
With that in mind, I've started filming the next chapter for the Round Robin. I have 21/103 (approximate) slides filmed. The update is written and it only needs some editing done.
But what of the Devereaux family? That, ladies and gentlemen, is the part that makes me sad. I STILL won't say that the story is finished. But let's all be honest here, unless I pump out an update weekly (LOLOLOLOLOLOL) it's still gonna be a couple years before the story is finished and, dammit, I want the LEGACY to be finished just to give myself some closure. And, hey, with all the cast members born I can at least picture them in my head as I fill in the blanks to my story (bearing in mind that I've had a rough outline of how the main family was going to play out for the last couple of years).
And so...I totally played to the very end of the legacy. Only the main family though because it's a lot quicker to play one, single household. I took a lot of pictures for future reference (hairstyles, clothes, etc.) But I'm only going to show a couple because GAME PLAY is totally different from STORY. A LOT of blanks that I plan to have happen in my story (mainly involving Zane) I didn't want to have affect my real, actual Sim family.
With that in mind, here is the completed Devereaux Family Tree (OBVIOUSLY THERE ARE SPOILERS):
Generation One: Joshua Devereaux & Kelly "Joshina" Phillips-Devereaux
Generation Two: Ansley Devereaux & Hunter Almadhfoihwodcnowif (blah blah blah)-Devereaux
Generation Three: Sebastian Devereaux & Kitty Simself-Devereaux
Generation Four: Mary Devereaux & Goopy GilsCarbo-Devereaux
Generation Five: Eden Devereaux & Rhys Fitzhugh
Generation Six: Erin Devereaux & Puck Summerdream
Generation Seven: Simon Devereaux
Generation Eight: Oliver Devereaux & Penelope Lady Darth Raven Dusk Snoodles-Devereaux
Generation Nine: Claudia Devereaux & Lytton Goodytwoshoes
And...
DRUMROLL PLEASE!
Generation Ten: Irene Devereaux
Alas, the Fitzhugh Nose died out at Generation Nine. Claudia (Irene's mother) looks almost identical to her mother (Penelope) with Oliver's coloring. Irene looks like Claudia with Lytton's coloring and genetics (I gave Lytton a brown hair "recessive" along with the recessive grey eyes he'd have, but Irene got his green eyes anyway).
With that, I FINALLY have a brunette in the family, lol.
Some extra random things:
This is one of the reasons why I just started staging. After a couple of generations of people having careers in Journalism and Adventure on top of a couple of Snapdragons, everyone ends up sitting in the place I call "The Magic Circle of No Motive Decay." Granted I COULD take all of that out but do you guys know how hard it is to play the game without mood boosters? Okay, yeah, you guys do. But I'm a WUSS and I apparently SUCK at The Sims without them. Besides, having everyone sit in one spot where I can keep an eye on them makes for faster game play (if not very interesting one). I went from Gen 7 being a toddler to the birth of Gen 10 in less than two days (as soon as Gen 10 was born, I aged her up as fast as possible. Hey, I could cheat by that point; the legacy was over as soon as Irene was born!).
I admit it: My legacy is mostly smoke and mirrors and has been since "Rhyden" became a thing.
Simon, you probably noticed, was the only person who didn't have a spousal portrait. For story reasons he became a Plantsim and my Ideal Plantsim is a custom one, introduced in my story as Mother Nature, who you see right here. Mother Nature actually has green eyes, but I gave her black contacts for the story to make her look...I dunno...more unique I guess?
This ends up causing a ripple effect in the story. Simon doesn't go to college and as soon as he hits Adult, he's a Plantsim. As soon as he becomes a Plantsim, he spawns a Plantsim baby, who goes right from Toddler to Adult. The problem for Oliver is that he lacks all the major connections that legacy heirs are practically born with; he's about one and a half generations ahead of all the other legacy spares' kids. So how does Oliver find a spouse?
By having a Bachelor Challenge, of course!
The game play BC was very quick. Basically ACR was on and whoever Oliver fell in love with first (and vice versa) was the winner. It took less than half an hour.
In the story (if I ever reach that point) my plans are WAY different. Still a BC, but not the TS2 BC. More like televised Bachelor Challenges with the girls doing stupid competitions to have a private date, confessions to the camera, and Oliver handing out roses. That sort of thing. That's the plan anyway.
There is a reason why none of the girls are the typical Maxis Townies. Because Mother Nature (the Sim itself, not the character) is a product of a Garden of Shadows' "Good Genes Challenge" I decided that all of the female contestants would also be the product of those challenges (and the winner would have the proper recessives added to her when she was put into the neighborhood).
The winner was Penelope, aka Lady Darth Raven Dusk. It amused me that the "goth" looking girl would be the one who won. What was even more amusing is that I've used that Sim in a couple other places in my legacy:
She was in the band that Eden and Archie had gone to see on a date.
And she was in Puck's art classes.
I felt it fitting that the wannabe vampire girl (her characterization in my story when the time comes-she won't be the same person as she's been shown before) falls in love with the guy who needs to be under constant sunlight. P.S. she's TOTALLY a fan of "Dusk" and she's super giddy that she gets to live in the same household as the woman who played Stella Sparrow.
Speaking of Eden, she and Rhys, because of Simon skipping college (and only being a teen for 8 days), and Oliver doing the Plantsim aging, the two of them actually survived until Generation Nine!
Rhys even taught Claudia how to walk.
Rhys died five days before Eden. His last day was filled with lots of WooHoo. I mean lots. As in the guy never stopped rolling the want. "I want to do it in bed, then the sauna, then the hot tub, then in public (the photo booth), then in the closet, then in the hammock, and then in the bed again. BTW, I fear the death of Eden, so please make sure that doesn't happen even though I'm perma plat and I won't have a breakdown or anything like that. YOU OWE ME BECAUSE YOU KILLED QUINN!"
I may or may not be projecting.
His last action was kissing Eden. It was very sweet. Unlike EDEN'S last action, which was telling Erin a dirty joke. And we won't even get into the late in life fling she had after Rhys died (which will NOT be happening in the story because said Sims will be gone). But let's just say that between Gage Uglacy, who dropped on by for no apparent reason, and Stanley Legacy...Well Stanley was MORE THAN WILLING to accommodate Eden's ACR needs and we'll leave it at that.
As for Puck and Erin? They're still alive (again because of the aging thing). They ARE elders though.
Puck's hair didn't have an elder option, so I had to change it, other wise he would have had that awful comb over and I just couldn't do that to poor Puck who shrieked so much he would have permanently lost his voice had he been a real person.
And Erin...
Well Erin just looks super pissed that she aged.
Anyway, that's about it. Now that I've seen who looks like what for the rest of my story (for the main family anyway-again, there's a whole BUNCH of stuff that will happen in the story to fill in the blanks and bring all the vagueness together here) I can be happy to start filming the BRRL and getting that out as fast as I can...
Providing, of course, if the baby lets me. She does SO enjoy making a liar out of me.
