Summary: It's been years since she's heard his voice. Life altering events seem to be their thing.
Notes/Warnings: none except that I do not own Star Trek. This was originally written for a challenge but it didn't really fit the parameters

( Carol drops a pint of milk in the middle of the isle in the grocery store )

This is perfection in story form. Beautiful. Sadly bittersweet with Carol's reminiscences. Jim singing 'Amazing Grace,' then David humming it just about killed me. Yes, beautiful.

I love seeing Carol and David! I like the understated emotion Carol exhibits throughout. Your Carol seems very perceptive, and she clearly feels the distance between them, but also reinforces her decision to leave Jim as the right thing for everyone, even if there's a sense of loss there, too. I love the little hints of mannerisms that Carol sees as Jim's in David. In my mushy little heart, I hope that Jim has a better or closer relationship with David in Reboot 'Verse than in TOS, but maybe that's one of those inevitable parts of the time line.

I love your strong, three-dimensional Carol! Lovely!

I'm glad that you enjoyed my Carol! In my take on things Jim an David do have a better but strange relationship in the Reboot. Thank you so much.
