Glad you "heard" the shoes--wanted Jack as always wanting what he wants (his entrance), also needed him acknowledging changes--so he is partly old time stylin' and partly accepting and supporting. I think he questions her acceptance becos he knows she's experiencing different circumstances now--there is another, specifically the owner of the shoes, ahead of him in the rotation. For me, Jack is both the one, capable and all-knowing and yet there is his humanity which causes him to question himself and his place. Thanks once more--This piece was hard, got re-writ 3 times and pared from a grandiose 500 or so words to what's there. The idea of it only changed 4 or 5 times...good thing there's a day job--but this sure is fun!!

By the bye--your shoe one kicked booty and took all the names in the county! I adore the picture of all the shoes parked side by side! Oh, yeah, Jack was definitely part of her home routine--maybe not regular as morning, but welcome when he come.
