Okay, so yeah. I meant to post the results of this like on Saturday. But I ...was lazy. And miserable this weekend. But I went to the doctor and have good drugs, so let's move on, shall we? (NOTE: My ipod is named Magical Misa-chan... long story. But it'll be called Mi-chan for short. It's a third gen nano, and although I didn't want it at first, we've come to a divine understanding.)
(Under the cut, because it's almost 2000 words, and with the embedded video, it's a mouthful...)
01. You gotta help me out, it's all a blur last night -- Waking Up in Vegas (Katy Perry). I have a love hate relationship with this woman. I personally think she's annoying, but she can write (or knows how to pick) a stupid catchy pop song like no one else. Also, she's way better when being covered by other artists. IMHO.

02. I don't tell anyone about the way you hold my hand -- Parachute (Ingrid Michaelson). She is probably my favorite lyricist out there right now. I love how witty and heartfelt she is in her songs without being overly sappy or cloy. Admittedly, this is not her best song, but it's still a sweet one.

03. I wanna hold them like they do in Texas, please -- Poker Face (Lady Gaga). This is one of my least favorite Gaga songs. But it's catchy and that is often what the criteria is when it comes to getting put onto Mi-chan.

04. I can't see why people look at me and only see the color of my face -- Run and Tell That (Hairspray; movie version). I love this musical, and oh dear me, the voice! It's such a wonderfully campy delightful show ...and soundtrack.

05. She's been living in her uptown world...-- Uptown Girl (Billy Joel). I do not particularly love Billy Joel. However, I downloaded an FFIX FST (I have a terrible weakness for FSTs) and this song was on it. And it FIT SO PERFECTLY for the character that I feel morally obligated to keep it on my ipod. Plus it's catchy as hell.

06. I wear a disguise, I'm just your average jane... -- One Girl Revolution (Superchick). I'm pretty sure I found out about Superchick through some Disney TV Original Movie a few years ago. Then I rediscovered them thanks to Operation Beautiful. It's wonderful feel-good love yourself and be kickass music, which is what the world needs more of in so many ways.

07. All that work and what did it get me? --- Rose's Turn (Glee Cast Ver.). I should probably find a version from Gypsy to put on Mi-chan as well. But I like this song, I like the way Chris Colfer SINGS the hell out of it, and it's awesome. Totally awesome.

08. Come on girls! Do you believe in love? -- Express Yourself (Madonna/Glee Cast). I am not a huge fan of Madonna. She was a little before my time, and anyway, my parents (and grandparents) never particularly loved her. But Glee actually let me LISTEN (really listen) to Express Yourself, and guess what? It's a fun, flirty, empowering song. I love empowering songs. Especially empowering pop songs.

09. It's just another; that you are my, my one and only, that you're my kind, my perfect find -- Testimony (Dana Glover). She had a gorgeous ballad on one of the Shrek soundtracks (I'm not a ballad fan in general, but this one made me bawl). Anyway, someone used that gorgeous ballad to make a Howl's Moving Castle fanvid. (Sadly, the video has been taken down), and I went looking around for some more of this artist's music, and I discovered her album. Which is fantastic. This is the title track from that album.
10. Dearest darlingest Momsie and Popsical... -- What is this Feeling? (Wicked: The Musical) I'm going to see Wicked in April with seven of my closest friends. I love this song so much, I actually made my first (and only) fanvid set to this song. It's back from my Kim Possible fandom days (hush, you).

11. Hey, Back to back, ha ha ha ha, hey, belly to belly; took place in the New York cemetery... -- Zombie Jamboree (Rockapella version). I hold the softest of places in my heart for this group, who totally made my weekday afternoons a blast with their preformances of "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego". It took me months to find their live album (my brother owned it, but he refused to share it with me when we were kids, then he lost it, the brat), and I promptly wore out every track on it.

12. I thought love was only true in fairy tales -- I'm a Believer (Smashmouth). I have a soft spot for the Monkees version as well, but this one made it onto Mi-chan because it happened to be on the Shrek soundtrack.

13. Seeing thru a hole in time looking at this world of mine -- Lift Me Up (The Benjamin Gate). Okay, so technically they're a Christian band. I think. But I REALLY like this song. I heard it used in a Hana Yori Dango fanvid and promptly fell in love with the song (not so much the band or the series, but hey, can't win them all).

14. Sometimes I shave my legs and sometimes I don't. -- Video (India.Arie). This song was my JAM. My motto for life, my most favorite song EVER. I saw the video on Vh1, and it was just love at first listen. THERE WAS A SONG OUT THERE THAT WAS PERFECT FOR ME. My goals! My desires. A song that made it so clear that it was perfectly okay to be ...me. I desperately needed to hear it at fifteen, and I often need to hear it even now, which is why the album has a permanent home in my car (honestly, I just listen to the one track over and over and over sometimes when I'm having a crappy day). It was the first time in my life that I ever felt empowered by music.

15. Yeah I know he's been a good friend of mine... -- Jessie's Girl (Rick Springsteen). I also have the Glee Version. Just a silly 80's jam. I think I saw the pop-up video for it on Vh1 and decided it was the cheesiest, most awesome, corny song ever. (That and 867-5309 (Jenny Jenny) are firmly linked together in my brain).
16. Try to see it my way, do I have to keep talking till I can't go on? -- We Can Work It Out (The Beatles) I was afraid nobody would catch the lone Beatles song! I know not everyone on my friends list likes the Beatles, but they're one of my favorite bands. I think they were so innovative, and have so many songs for so many different moods. It's also a band my parents and I would listen to together when I was a kid. (I have happy memories associated with jamming out to the Beatles in the living room with my family.)

17. Dear Elle, he's a lucky guy... -- Omigod You Guys (Legally Blonde: The Musical). It's a earworm from a delightfully campy musical. What's not to like? It doesn't help that my friends and I often start singing this one aloud for no particular reason (also There! Right There!).

18. Here I go, one two three four, I'll make history -- Suffragette (Nina Gordon). A kind of obscure artist that I found out about thanks to the higher power of Pandora. Pandora Internet Radio, which I found out about thanks to NaNoWriMo, got me away from listening to only Top 40 and more into off the beaten path kinds of music, which is never really a bad thing.
19. ...he said, through his rotten teeth, bad breath, and then -- Marry Me (Emilie Autumn). A delightful, peppy song set to macabare lyrics. That's Emilie Autumn in a nutshell. She's kind of crazy, but she did a Faerie Tale inspired album that was AMAZING, and she play the electric violin. (Too cool.)

20. Brown eyes and lungs are filled up with smoke -- Five Minutes to Midnight (Boys Like Girls). A song I heard used in a fanvid and decided I needed to have on my Mi-chan. That's often the case with a fair bit of my music, especially the stuff where I only have one song by the artist.

21. I know that you're hiding things, using gentle words to shelter me -- 1000 Words (Final Fantasy X-2/Jade/Sweetbox). A lot of you know the song, not so many of you know the artist. Which works, because I'm mostly the same way. I love Final Fantasy as a game series. So naturally, there's a lot of Final Fantasy music (mostly the stuff with lyrics on Mi-chan, but I own a LOT OF IT). FF got me listening to (and appreciating) instrumental music.

22. Tiny little fish, she's a little fish from the deep blue sea -- Ponyo English Theme (Noah Cyrus and Frankie Jonas). Not much to say, except this is the cutest damn song ever.

23. Excuse me, can I please talk to you for a minute? -- The Boy Is Mine (Brandy/Monica). I remember watching this video on TRL and loving the battle of the late 90's/early 2000's R&B divas (and buying both their albums). Sigh, was that really over ten years ago?

24. Head under water and they tell me to breathe easy for a while -- Love Song (Sara Bareilles). I love Sara Barellies's snarky lyrics, unabashed, laid-back personality on Twitter, and her wonderful songs. When she and Ingrid Michaelson perfomed "Winter Song" as a duet, my head nearly exploded from the sheer awesome.

25. This is no great illusion when I'm with you, I'm looking for a ghost -- You Are What You Love (Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins). Another song that I have thanks to FSTs. I swear, I'm addicted to them... but I find so much new intersting music that way, and on the plus side, it relates to my favorite characters and series. So kinda win.

26. We're coming up like killing machines, our big guns gonna shatter your scene -- Sure Fire Winners (Adam Lambert). We are, we are the sure fire winners. It's not the most meaningful song on his album by far, but it's the one that tends ot get stuck in my head the most often.

27. I never thought that I could be so satisfied every time I look into your angel eyes... -- Pop! Goes My Heart (Hugh Grant/Music and Lyrics). The soundtrack is actually pretty good. I have a soft spot for the movie, especially with the Vh1 Pop-Up video style ending. I miss the pop-up videos SO MUCH.
28. We'll drink together and when we drink we'll drink together, not alone! - All For One (Blackmore's Night). Hahaha, another FST track, which helped me discovered the artist. The song reminds me a lot of an anthem or an Irish drinking song; uplifting and rowdy, but kind oflike a folk song as well. They're a Renaissance rock group, which is pretty wicked.

29. The in and out of dating's got me all confused, I built up expectations and I'm feeling used -- Frogs and Princes (Natasha Bedingfield). I really like Natasha when her songs play to issues and insecurities facing all of us. It makes them easy to relate to--and this one is relatable and really freaking catchy. (I was surprised someone knew this one, because it's a kind of obscure UK-only track.)

30. I met you before the fall of Rome -- It's All Been Done (Barenaked Ladies). BNL is kind of campy, but surprisingly sincere, and I like the combination of fun and heart that is present in a lot of their songs.
