Gabby Week one and a half

Thank you all for your congratulations and well wishes. Gabby is doing well after having spent the first three days in Newborn ICU. When my daughter's water broke it triggered an infection in both of them. She also had a few breathing issues (air bubbles in her thorax) that required her to be on oxygen for a few days. Between the IV for antibiotics and the oxygen we were not able to hold her until a few days after she was born, but I am happy to say she is doing great and thriving. Both hubby and I have made frequent trips to our daughters' to help out with the baby and to give her a rest (not only did she give birth, but she needs to recover from the c-section) all the while coordinating with the other grandmother for their care. For my in laws 65th anniversary the other day, my daughter and Gabby managed to surprise them with the a visit from their great-granddaughter. Can't tell you how much fun it has been to take care of my granddaughter ... ;)

The job I have been so enjoying this last year has come to a end. The attorney I was working for passed away in December. The primary attorney had moved to Florida two years ago and decided it was time to close this office for good. So, I am once again looking for work. But until I do find work, there is always Gabby to play with.
