And it was wonderful. I had a great time. Summary in bullet points.
- The balcony was only open for VIP or something along the lines, which SUCKS. So I stuck to the bar. Even though I got there early the amount of people who had early entry meant it wasn't even worth it to try anything else. Plus, you know. Booze.
- I know nothing about Versaemerge, except that my high school self would have LOVED them. They sounded like they should have been on the Queen of the Damned soundtrack. And saying I would have liked them in high school is not an insult, btw, that's just the kind of music I listened to back then.
- I was very surprised to realize I knew a Rocket to the Moon song, but then I remembered Dakota was on the FOB mixtape. I like that song. Also, they played the FBR Holiday Sale song. Well played, Rocket to the Moon.
- TAI was WONDERFUL. They played Almost Here (The whole album) and We've Got a Big, Big Mess. Bill wore his old scarf around his knee and then spent the whole show hiking it up as it slowly fell down his twiggy legs.
- Bill at no point acknowledged it was the Butcher's last show. SHOCKER. But at one point he was trying to get the crowd to cheer for themselves and was like, "you're not going to cheer for me, for Mike, for Butcher-" and the whole audience broke into screams and applauds and Butcher just kind of nodded his head like, fuck that, they're totally going to cheer for me.
- Bill has turned into a corny dad. He kept saying "are you guys ready for our best friends? ROLLING STONES! :D? :D?" You are a corny dad who tells corny dad jokes, William Beckett.
- Gabe came out to sing on a song, but I can't remember which one. Bill patted his ass as he left.
- Butcher came out after the show to wave. I'm really glad I got to see him perform.
- Gym Class Heroes were great. Hot Bassist Eric is still hot. At one point Travie had the whole audience do the chorus to Billionaire a Capella. They played 'Live a Little' first, which is my FAVORITE GCH song. They also played a lot of their old stuff, including Taxi Driver. I was surprised at how well I knew all their songs, because I haven't listened to GCH for a while.
- COBRA COBRA COBRA. GodDAMN I love that beautiful band. I don't even know where to start. They played a lot of their older stuff. I was actually disappointed they didn't play more off of NiteShades, but that's okay, I get why. Sabi came out to sing on You make Me Feel. DeJesus came out on a song too, but I can't remember which one now. They did play Church of Hot Addiction which was awesome.
- At one point they talked about Ryland's mom and cursing. IDK.
- They spent a lot of time making fun of Victoria and blaming her for anything that went wrong.
- I'm not a huge fan of Vicky-T's voice, but it really works well in their live shows. She sounded great. So did Gabe, considering the shit his voice has been through. Travis sounded rough, though, especially at the start of GCH's set. I don't know if it's a cold, or something else, but... yeah.
- Speaking of Victoria, she was wearing just about the tightest dress I have ever seen. I approve, obviously. OBVIOUSLY.
- People kept chanting "Snakes on a plane!" in between songs during the encore. Gabe was like "Let me ask you guys something. Do you honestly believe we WOULDN'T play that song when we have all three bands together? Can we just play Guilty Pleasure first?" Oh gabe, you precious goober.
- SNAKES ON A PLANE I SAW SNAKES ON A PLANE WITH 3 OF THE ORIGINAL 4 SUPER GROUP. And Bill hugged Travie! AND I DIDN'T GET A PICTURE OF IT. Well I did, but it's even more blurry than the rest of my crappy picture. Someone better have gotten a picture of it and it better be on my desk by monday.
- BLARGH OTHER STUFF IDK.
