Summer. Escalating into such a good one, this 2006 shorten fantastic summer. Another day, another accident in my not-so-trusty Volvo, and I am just waiting for the day it blows up. Driving on the highway, my tire just decided that it didn't want to be attached anymore. In the fast lane, coming up on a entrance ramp and nearby a bridge, I pulled over into the left hand shoulder. Cars are speeding by at 75 mph and probably faster, and I attempt to pull farther off of the highway and look at my brother. "I want you, under NO circumstances, to get out of this car." He listened, thank God, because this was the first time my trusty Volvo decided to break down on the highway, and I was not excited about it. Jumping out for twenty five seconds, I quickly realized our tire had just....let's just say the rubber was no longer attached to the rim. I thought back to driver's training, and cursed having to use that knowledge now. I called 911 and asked them to send a police officer out, because it would just be one more thing between me and the zooming traffic--one more light that the drivers would see before coming up to me. Then I called my mom, who got in touch with our insurance people so that someone would come and tow my car. Alas, it took them a half hour, but the man who helped me was really nice and even jumped my car for me afterwards...
