No wonder I'm so freaking tired...

Babbles and zoo pics under the cut...

I managed to rack up 14 APs today. I met Chris for lunch and decided since the weather was nice that we'd hit the zoo on the way home. The boy fell asleep about 10 minutes into the visit, but since the animals were out and about, I decided to let him sleep and stroll around. I had my heart rate monitor with me, so I turned it on. 1006 calories expended later, Connor woke up and we headed home.

I love going to zoos. Whenever we travel, I always try to fit in a visit to the local zoo. Kansas City's has vastly improved over the days of the concrete bear pits and the stinky Ape House. I'd have to say my all time favorite was Taronga Park in Sydney. Because come on, how cool is it to be looking at giraffes and elephants with the Syndey Opera House in the background? :)

We joined Friends of the Zoo so that we could visit at our leisure and not feel rushed to make the boy see everything. The zoo happens to be halfway between our house and where Chris works at, so I've decided that I'd try to get in some good exercise after meeting the fella for lunch. Might as well get out money's worth out of the membership. Besides, the kangaroos always make me smile. And now that the stupid emus are fenced in, it's even better. :)

Some cuteness before he fell asleep and started snoring away...

Elephants! We never seem to see them down in this area of their enclosure.

This tiger is usually curled up inside of the log, not sitting on top of it.

This tortoise looked like it had gotten stuck in the mudruts...

When the zoo built the African section a few years ago, it made the enclosures more natural and better for the animals. As a result, you can't get anywhere near them.

In all the time I've gone to see the hippos, this is the first time I've ever seen them playing around. Usually, all I get is a nostrils shot because they're submerged.

This is one of my favorite spots at the zoo. Today I got to sit in the sun and listen to the waterfall as the boy snoozed away. It made for a great place for an afternoon snack.

The kangaroo enclosure in the Australia section is fairly open, and they often hop around the walking paths. These two were fascinated by the stroller, and the little joey was absolutely adorable.

Cheesy Halloween decorations at the outdated (and thankfully closed) Ape House. Oooooh, scary. :/

A parting shot as the boy has his afternoon bottle. I love that he can hold it himself now. :)

Then when Chris got home, we walked to Subway for dinner. 395 calories later, we're at home and I'm exhausted. If only the stupid football game wasn't so intriguing. Damn Buffalo actually playing well for a change. :/

And it never fails... I pass CD40 and start to worry that I'm late. Instead of wasting money on pregnancy tests, all I need to do is put clean sheets on the bed. Works every time. :/

And on that note, I'm going to bed... :)
