It's still been very unseasonably warm and dry most of the past month where I live. I wonder if we are going to end up with something like Mexico's current climate here in CA.
My brother-in-law, who sells electric cars, tells me the demand for them is there, and this news article backs him up:
http://www.enn.com/today.html?id=11756&ref=rssHe doesn't think hydrogen is The Solution. I don't either, since it's an energy carrier, not an energy source, and also it explodes. He feels it's just acting like a "middleman" for electricity and you may as well Just Plug It In.
I would get an electric car today if 1) I had any money and 2) they were ready for freeway travel, which is what I need for all my medical stuff.
They are waking up to climate change in New York:

dburr to see at UCLA had dinner with Al Gore recently. I'm glad Gore is out there waking people up to what is happening, and I only pray others with high visibility join him. I wanted to do one of the screenings of his movie at my place that MoveOn.org is organizing for this Saturday, but I'm not free on that day. I have to see if I can do one another day.
New place to participate:
http://participate.net/aninconvenienttruth I'll have my page up there soon!
I'm adding the peak oil community to these posts of mine. Peak Oil is the other "twin devil"...in combo with the climate crisis, we could end up in a hell of a mess, as the scramble for energy sources will occur at the same time that we need to reduce rather than increase carbon emissions.
Or, it could be the time for green energy to take over. Hope it's that!
