Freelance Copy Editor/Formatter
We're looking for one or two new people to join the team at Your Wardrobe Unlock'd and Foundations Revealed. These are part time, paid positions, and are geographically free - in other words, this job can be done through your computer from home, wherever you are on Planet Earth or beyond.
They would ideally suit someone who is retired, a stay-at-home mum, or someone who is self-employed but could use a little help to make ends meet in hard financial times.
Specifically, we're looking for someone who can format and lay out articles. Our Editor, Marion, liaises with writers, who send in the text and images for their articles. Your job is to upload them onto the website and make sure they make sense and look good, ready for publication. We're looking for one person to take care of Foundations and one for Wardrobe, but we may consider combining the two, after a trial period.
You must be:
Hours and Payment:
One article generally takes 2-3 hours to get ready to go live, so you're looking at 2-3 hours' work per week. We will pay US$50 or UK£32 per article, and of course your membership will be free for as long as you work with us.
In other words, you will earn US$200 or UK£128 in a four week month, or US$250 or UK£160 in a five week month, in addition to your free membership. And of course, if you should end up doing this job for both sites, the hours and the pay will both double.

You must be:
- Self starter
- Problem solver
- Able to work independently
- Responsible
- Able to meet weekly deadlines
- Have a thorough knowledge of sewing and costume periods (and corsetry, for Foundations)
- Able to write clearly in English
- Understand basic HTML
- Edit article text for clarity and check for spelling errors
- Formatting and layout of articles in HTML using an editor in Joomla
- Image Editing (Resizing, cropping and occasionally light balancing)
- Communicate regularly via email and Skype voice meetings
- Meet weekly deadlines for publication
- A bonus "nice to have" skill would be knowledge of Joomla administration
