ahh, camping!

yes, last night we went camping. tent camping. WITH both kids. no, no, it was actually very fun. i had to wipe dirt and rocks out of little boy's mouth every couple hours, but then i also caught him before he put the rock in his mouth several times, so that was good. little girl had a blast. we just went tent camping at boyer for a night. there was insane wind and rain and thunder while we were setting up and husband was "this close" to packing up and going home, but i said "well, unpredictable weather is part of the fun of camping." so we stayed. he prayed. the wind died. the sun showed. it was a perfect evening, and a perfect morning. the food was awesome. my favorite camp food is to throw a couple ears of un-shucked corn on the cob on the grill while you're eating your main course, and then by the time your burgers are gone, the corn is done! shuck it, roll it in the butter, salt it, and my oh my it is delish!

uh oh...dvd player is freaking out. must go rescue children.

did i mention that i love when you come home from camping and everything smells like campfire? i just love that. our whole downstairs still smells like we are bbqing again tonight. it's yummy.
