Worse anniversary dinner ever.

Dinner on 16th June at Oscars was not anywhere near the standards of a 82% based on 32 reviews on hungeygowhere.com
With such a score online by some many netizens, you would have expected more, alot more.
The best buffet place that I've been to so far is The Line at Shang-ri La.
It rates 72% based on 52 reviews on hungrygowhere.com
So I'd have thought that Oscars was some fantastic buffet that you've have to try- it doesn't even come close.

To start off, the selection of food was pathetic. If you add the entire buffet line up, its probably the size of my living room.
There was only 2 soups to choose from- Minestrone or Hot and Spicy soup.
Whatever happened to the cream of whatever? I thought it was only basic that they should have a cream based soup.
The seafood selection was okay, the normal oysters, prawns and crayfish.
The comforting thing was that the oysters were super fresh, almost the same standard as The Line.
Bb didn't take any second serving of the sashimi so I reckon that it wasn't fantastic too.
Major setback- they didn't even have Tako !
The Chinese and Indian cuisine was okay, something like how you'll taste at your local zhi-char store.
There was only beef and lamb cut-outs and the beef was too fatty for my liking.
There was a noodle bar that might as well not be there to save place as it serves sweet prawn noodles and bak kut teh.
The only good thing about the buffet was the desert bar. On second thoughts, it doesn't seem great as well.
There were only 4 flavors to choose from, 2 kinds of cakes and the rest were those colorful jelly-like stuff in cups.
Yes, those that look good but tastes like crap.
Overall, it was a disappointing dinner and I'll never return again.

Till then. more updates to come on the Batam trip.
Cheers !
