Sewing!
I gave my first handmade gifts tonight. They went over well.
I was invited to the birthday dinner of a colleague's daughter, who happens to be in my class. I decided to make her an ipod case, since she was getting an ipod, and a pen roll.
The pen roll turned out nicely. The ipod case was a nightmare. I kept having to redo parts and I wasn't terribly happy with it, but it still was pretty okay. I didn't finish until when we were supposed to be leaving, and then I had to scramble for gift wrap.
The only wrapping paper we have is from Christmas, so I channeled my inner martha stewart and made a bright green felt pouch for the gift. I tied it with some of the ribbon I splurged on at Michael's last week.
