... and sometimes war

so yeah figured it was time for an update as it's been a while and I have some news to share with the world, Firstly my nastybadcold has gone away now god knows what I had. My symptoms consisted of coughing sweating sneezing, and generally being a grumpy old bastard, sounds about right as i'm sure debs will inform you (ps thanks for looking after me huni). So this weekend we DID london, quite a few of those nasty public transport majobbies involved some more luxorious then others may i add, but a good weekend was ensued.

We left aber at a whopping 9.30 in the morning which was pretty impressive when we consider that i usually arise somewhere about midday, and so we made our way to new street with dan in toe sleeping for most of the way or reading in my case incidently lord of the rings is gettin really good.

When we arrive at new street we have a bit of a desperate hop skip jump to the conncecting train to oxford but make it in time. In time to be greeted by a drunk addict on the train that is, though he seemed pretty harmless, apparently he had been drunk since the night before and then had been halfing vodka and lucazade all day when we met him at midday, as you can imagine he was jus dying to talk to us. After insulting most people on the train and cambridge and offering us a joint unfortunately we had to depart. Then we arrived at Oxford we got to see the town on the walk to emma's and let me tell you it ain't aber lol. They have shops for one thing and good ones for a second and half the building are really old and kept by the university whereas the other bits are all new shops so it's a bit confusing but quite a nice place. Before long we were on the coach to london for a mere £5 return i might add so that was quite good, much sleepyness was ensued on the coach and i think i might have possibly maybe fell asleep.

Anyway then we arrived at london, thankfully emma and chris knew vaguely what they were doing, as i think they have been there before we bought tickets and took up waiting for lembo. It was soon discovered however that lembo was the one who knew what he was doing and after many confused phone calls and texts met us and we boarded the tube to brixton. Then it was just a bit of a walk down the road and we were at the academy, all hopes of an early entrance were dashed as we realised the queue was actually all the way around the brixton but still it did move quite quickly and after being politely asked if we wanted a haircut being offered numerous cheap wares from outside and lembo receiving a lot of fliers we were in.

We were seated upstairs in the academy on a sloping balcony i think it's a converted theatre if that helps, so the view was at first worryingly bad especially considering the signs stating no standing. However when apocalyptica were on everyone did stay seated and so we could see them just fine, they are bloody amazing let me tell you for anyone who has not heard them i urge you too, they play covers of rock songs but with chellos, and then one drummer it is absolutely amazing to watch. However before long they were gone back to Finland i presume lol but watch out for them. Then came the waiting about half an hour i'd say before rammstein actually showed but when i think of their set i can see why, their set involved that many pyrotechnics light co-ordinations and fireworks to get it all set up in half hour was quite good.

They were simply amazing, playing some old favourites and classics such as feuer frei, and Rammstein, and some of the new album such as Amerika and Mein Teill. The live show for which was simply amazing, involving the keyboardist a pot and being chased by the lead singer with a flamethrower and a knife, all very impressive. It was honestly the best concert i've ever been to, i really enjoyed it, and so the cost didnt really bother me. It was wicked that debs was their with me watching them, as we've both liked 'em for so long it was just a really great gig. One slight downer on the night was debs not feeling so well perhaps my sicknasty germs mentioned earlier have spread but fear not i will look after you, feel better soon huni.

I would continue to our return trip and the next day spent with chris and emma, it was really cool spending time, as it's the first time since christmas that we've managed to see chris emma or lembo so thanks guys, however i do have a seminar in about twenty minutes and I dont really know what im going to do debs is in the same boat so a bit of cramming me thinks
