I found an interesting site kiva.org. The basic concept is that people lend other people small amounts of money for grassroots type projects. So a small, family-run farm store that needs 500 dollars to improve yield (and thereby profit) might get $50 from 10 different donors. It sounds pretty kickin'.

I've finally updated the ewb site *woohoo*! Lots of PHP and rubber cement helped get the job done. Just a few more updates on the weekend and it'll be all ready for the multitudes of visitors streaming in from the ole inernet.
