I have to say I'm completely in love with this film. I can't get enough of it, and that goes the same for the soundtrack, the actors and the story. The scenes and buildings of L.A. were captured beautifully. It was great seeing L.A. romanticized as other cities are usually portrayed like N.Y. or Chicago. Most L.A. based flicks focus on Hollywood, the Sunset Strip or Beverly Hills, so it was definitely a treat to see the familiar downtown streets and buildings. This has to be my favorite film of the year and it's definitely in my top five films list. If you haven't had a chance to catch this film I definitely recommend that you do so right away.
The story is about a twenty-something guy named Tom Hanson who falls in love with a girl named Summer Finn. They have different ideologies about love, one a bit optimistic than the other. Their story is interesting, a bit unique in some ways, but plausible. It made me yearn and fear...it made my heart ache-ah I'm too much of a romantic! This is not a love story, it's a story about love. It's about "500 Days of Los Angeles, of promises, of uncertainty, of Summer. 500 days of magic, distance, of tenderness. 500 days of intimacy, of awkwardness, of passion. 500 days of fury, of ecstasy, of Summer"
