Recovering from con crash, loving every minute of it.

So I've been meaning to post about the last 2 weeks of this month, but I haven't really been able to get my feelings out about them. Mostly because I'd probably just spout the word AWESOME over and over again, but I'll try to keep it relatively readable with "bullet points." Here we go!

- Birthday was wonderful! Went to jewelry class, met up with mom in the city and went to the Titanic exhibit. You get a ticket with the name of a real passenger and you get to see who they were, what class they stayed in, who was with them, etc. Then you go through and see everything about how the ship was built, what the rooms looked like, how disaster struck, I mean, they even had a mini iceberg that you could touch. Didn't think it was real, nearly yelled when my hand came back wet. XD At the very end, you get to look at the wall with all the passengers' names on it and find out if the person on your ticket lived or not. We had the tickets of 2 first class ladies, so we both survived. Afterward, we had dinner at a fabulous restaurant called One If By Land, Two If By Sea. I'll just say, if you ever have the chance to eat here, DO IT! I nearly cried, it was so lovely.

- Trip with dad to see his side of the family was really fun. It was way overdue, last time was 2 years ago. We got to NC about 7:30 am and surprised my aunts and cousins. It was like a publishers clearing house moment with crying and jumping for joy. They took me shopping for belated birthday gifts at the Old Navy because they were having a massive clearance sale, so I got a whole new wardrobe for 75-125 dollars! We also got to celebrate my Grandma's birthday and it was truly special, because everyone came down. It was the first time that all of her kids and grandkids were all in the same place in over 15 years! I can't wait to go back, I love them so much.

- Finally, the best for last, which can only be summed up like this: NYAF WAS THE BOMB!!! This year, I stayed for the whole weekend and it did NOT disappoint. There wasn't a single ad thing I could say about it save for the overpriced con food, but that's to be expected. Once again, it was the people who made this con, as I didn't go to any concerts, the masquerade, or many panels. (The panels I did go to however were excellent.)  It was all about hanging with people and having a ball, A+ will attend again! Distilled breakdown of my con experience:

-F YEAH Kuroshitsuji!
-F YEAH Hetalia!
-There are more cosplayers in Brooklyn than I thought! Ran into them on the A train Sat and Sun morning and it was sweet.
-Cosplayers are the nicest people you will ever meet, seriously. They'll let you hang out with them and stay in their hotel for a while, even though you just met them that day!
-There are other Jojo fans in the Tri-state area! The awesomeness can not be described, I had a joygasm when I spotted them. Fun times ensued.
-Walking with other cosplayers is always better than going alone. It makes for some hilarious experiences. XD
-Chasing pigeons is fun! ...Yeah, there's nothing more to  it than that, it just happened, and it was funny as hell.

There's so much more, but I'm still out of it so I'll try again a bit later. But, for the people I mentioned, you are all amazing and you are forever awesome in my heart. Thank you for making the end of my con season that special. *crying MANLY TEARS*
