Things have been going pretty well these past couple of days.
Besides Graduation and Grad Night (which were awesome and explained in detail - through mine and others' entries), there are more super events that made the summer really kick off.
Like say, eating a box of Honey Nut Cheerios while reading the latest Meg Cabot book. I did that for a couple of hours this afternoon. I know Cabot's books are predictable and girly... but for some reasons I'm just ADDICTTED to chick books that have happy endings. They just... make you feel happy inside. And when combined with cheerios...
I'm in heaven. It's like..
*crunch crunch crunch*
Read
*crunch crunch crunch *

and repeat, repeat.
And a couple of days ago I got an email from my "journalism mentor." When I won the NW Journalist of Color Scholarship, I was assigned a mentor that would help guide me with my work and etc. Through the email, I found out that my mentor's super nice, does feature layout design for the Seattle PI, and has GREAT pieces of work. She sent me some samples and I was like... WOW. Seriously, I am so excited... especially as a yearbook-layout-sort-of-person.
I also found another job. Starting July 5th, I will work as an office assistant at SU's Administrative offices. I'll work weekdays there, and then on weekends work at WWSS - a job I love. I'm super pumped, because that means I'll get to know the campus (and meet people) a bit more before September - and it'll be downtown!
So yeah... besides the fact that I still haven't found the picture posting button on lj...
Summer's turning out to be pretty sweet.
3 Days until NASHVILLE.
