Today was a pretty rockin day if i do say so myself. I finally feel needed again, and i can put my caring nature to use. Words can not describe how good being there for someone in need makes me feel, especially now

I'm not sure if the bible says it, but judeao-christian ideology certainly excepts it: god is infallible. He's perfect, and he knows what he's doing.
If god were actually perfect, then he must be malevolant for creating the world as it is now.
say you have a hamster. would you go a week without feeding it so it would appreciate it's food more, when you have the option of feeding it every day?
no, that's cruel. in this same way, god has created strife not to make us appreciate the important things (like him? how arrogant is that?) but instead, the only reason would be to inflict suffering on us. he's forcing us to lead to our own downfalls.
you have a valid point about the balance of good and bad. that balance is actually central to my belief system. It's the truth, the way human beings are now, if we didn't have bad, we wouldnt be able to appreciate the good. However if god is perfect, then why wouldn't he just enable us to appreciate the good? It comes down to calvinism. God set up this world, and he told certain people what to do, knowing damned well exactly who was going to fail in the first place. when god created the universe he knew satan would be cast from heaven, he knew adam and eve would eat the forbidden fruit, yet he allowed these things to take place. Were he truley perfect and benevolent, neither of these events would have occured. Satan seems to exist only to torment god's creations, and because of adam and eve, god's direct creations, all of mankind must suffer through short, meager lives, all the time being told 'it's your fault for being born into sin'. He's placed us in a world of shit, where nothing is going the right way, and we haven't even heard from the guy for nearly two mellenium.
were god perfect, he could create the perfect existence, one where suffering and pain didn't need to exist like it does in this world. however, this god, regardless of his alignment, has chosen to do so. He's chosen things, and although we have 'free will' he's set up all of our circumstances and knows exactly what we're going to chose ahead of time, he just lets it happen so we can suffer.
so from that you can draw one of these assumptions either: 1.)God is not benevolent 2.)God is not perfect 3.)God doesn't exist as we think of him.
