So, this week was pretty good. We had two days off, Thursday and Friday. Yay for Jews. Thursday was spent at the mall and at home with Billy, Friday was... Well... I don't remember. Right, we had a game, which we won, and I did some homework.
Saturday (today/yesterday, depending upon how you look at it) = homework and 'Collateral' with Will.
Collateral was surprisingly good. Well, I guess. It wasn't a movie that I would see again, I don't think. It was very formulaic, and there were a few instances of sickeningly obvious product placement (for Bacardi Silver, mostly). But y'know, Tom Cruise was pretty good. I think that that was his first role wherein he donned the gray hair. I don't think that his character was very well developed though. Jamie Foxx's character was kind of interesting, I dunno. As for the plot itself, it wasn't anything special. Classic "reluctant sidekick but manages to save the day" role for Jamie Foxx, "jaded hitman" role for Tom Cruise, "high-powered but vulnerable lawyer" for Jada Pinkett-Smith. The mob-boss scene was in a nightclub. The LAPD officer's character was close to, if not utterly pointless. The good parts of the movie came through during the "small" scenes, usually conversations between Jamie Foxx and Tom Cruise. Also, they did some cool stylistic things with the cinematography, though even that kind of got annoying, at a point. No, but seriously, I enjoyed the movie. I'm just writing all the bad things here. It had some very well-scripted and interesting dialogue, the acting was pretty good, and I liked the fact that most of the movie took place inside a taxi cab. I mean, it can't compare to "Taxi Driver," but if you liked that movie, then you'd probably like this. Okay.
Back to homework. I should maybe get some sleep tonight, too.
