i can see clearly now

I always felt like I was meant to have glasses, to be honest. My whole life I've been a bookworm with 20/20 vision, a smarty-pants who used big words and liked Discovery channel without the corrective eyewear Hollywood said I ought sport. My face felt naked. Many times I contemplated getting nonprescription glasses, just to see how they looked, but the price was prohibitive.

Well, I aged, and eventually even my eyes started to take the hint. After the thousandth time my boyfriend pointed out a funny sign that I couldn't read without squinting, I finally found myself an eye doctor and got some actual real prescription glasses. I think they look super cool, and am totally loving flaunting them around at the office. They detract from my gigantic forehead, a plus. It's weird looking at the world through magnified glass though - everything feels so close! My depth perception is all off. But even though I feel like I'm walking around two feet high from the ground, at least I can finally read the blackboard menu at restaurants without pestering M, a fact for which he is profoundly grateful.

No update tonight I think - I'm partway through it, but I spent the whole weekend cleaning the house and washing EVERY WINDOW inside and out, which put my writing schedule behind. With luck we can catch back up to the Adventures of Jazz and Soundwave as They Reenact Jurassic Park (which is totally what it's becoming) this weekend.
