Ah, well. The husband abruptly thought he'd like to get on the road back to Kentucky where he works to forestall post-holiday traffic blues through Nashville in the morning. I'm not upset as I half expected this and I want him to beat that traffic. We already celebrated plenty, after all, starting from a big chicken dinner (baked in the rotisserie oven) for Yule on Saturday to our big blowout Yule/Full Moon party and ritual Sunday with friends to Christmas Eve driving to look at house lights through to this morning with presents, finishing with delicious bison burgers on the grill at noon today.
So what to do when left alone on Christmas? Take a NAP... mmmm, and a long, delicious one it was, too, the dog also napping in a sun beam. And I have Christmas cards and e-cards to get out - but first...
I'm going to go bake some gingerbread from scratch. Yeah.
Post note on Christmas presents: You know you're really married when you and your husband both get each other the same stocking stuffers: pistachios and socks.
