Mystery Illness

May 01, 2014 12:12

For the first time in my life, I've picked up some strange illness overseas. During my travels in Palestine, I visited a lot of small villages and was in constant contact with children, including the ones here from Shuafat Refugee Camp. I frequently hugged, kissed and picked them up. When I returned home last week, strange red bumps started appearing on my breasts and then quickly spread to cover my entire stomach, arms and now moving downward on my legs. The bumps have the appearance of measles or chicken pox. I've already had the former, and been vaccinated against the latter. My doctor can't provide any thorough diagnosis until she receives the results of my blood work (hopefully tonight!). Are any of my readers doctors? Here's an iPhone pic of some of the bumps:

Have you ever picked up a rash, infection, or become sick during or after overseas travels? My medical mystery continues...
