Unfortunately, due to someone from an icon stealing community spamming me repeatedly with a comment about how they stole my icons, anonymous comments are no longer allowed. I would set them so that they ( Read more... )

That is terrible..

But I have a question, the community said they stole your icons? Or did one person.. because everybody has a code number for their user name and you can track that person down and figure out if they stole your icons. even if they leave an anonymous comments.

That's what a friend of mine did when her icons started getting stolen.
I'm sorry *hugs*

it was an anonymous comment that linked to a specific post in an icon stealing community (which I couldn't see the post because I'm not a member) and said something like "Hah! Someone's stealing your icons! Have a nice day!" but I didn't have it set to log IP addresses.

I see no drama. Also, the same exact comment was posted several times on several different posts. Hence the calling it spamming.

I don't even care about the icon stealing anymore. I understand that the most I can really do about the situation is to ask that people credit and hope they do. If they don't, well, I can't do anything about it. And if they post my icons somewhere else, I can't do anything about that either.

It's when they spam me with comments mocking me about it, especially when I leave them alone in the first place, that it starts to bother me.

At least now they can't without using their LJ name, and that's easy enough to ban.
