oh why hello there livejournal

so yay long livejournal post here i come!!

i don't remember the last time i saw most of you who might check this anymore. jazzy? miles? laura?! good grief... teylor? tom? meg? i think i saw most of you theatre kids at meg's wedding. i come home back to huntington here and there, but am really pumped about seeeing my fam that i don't put much effort into seeing others, and i'm sorry about that. but no one writes here anymore!!! please don't fall off the face of the earth... please?

let's see, haha... hm. how should i write all that's happened with me. well there's this. since i've been here in raleigh, i've crushed on a handfull of guys. i've kissed 3 dudes- a marine, a dancer, and an anarchist, one transdude, and a chick. still looking for some sort of long term dating guy. there are still a few out there, so we'll see.

GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT!!! i'm going to take some classes at nc state in january!! word. i've been stressing about whether or not to go back for so long. i figured that if i was really comfortable with being out of school that i wouldn't worry about it as much as i do. and i got my lazy self together enough to apply as a non-degree seeking student. that means that i still get in state tuition, but i can't be a full or part time student because i don't have enough credits yet from warren wilson. (slash my gpa isn't good enough to get into the school of humanities and social sciences like it needs to be)

i think i want to major in either some sort of social science... anthro, sociology, we'll see. i'm also interested in autism and autism services. maybe some early childhood education thrown in there. yipeee!

since the week that i moved here to raleigh, i've been involved in the Presbyterian Campus Ministry here at nc state. it's the reason that i've stayed here like i have. since i haven't been in school, it's given me my social outlet with people who think the same way i do, for the most part. no mccain voters, i'll just say that. it's been so nice to have that support system here. and i definitely wouldn't have stayed here if i wasn't in that group.

but there have been some changes this year that have made things a little less than ideal, and semi awkward. well first of all, the director of it, allen proctor who's about our parents age is retiring after christmas after 18 years as the director. a lot of us feel like he's the glue that keeps it goin, the oil that keeps it movin smoothly. so i want to be on the search committee to find a new him. that'll be hard.

also, a few of you may not have realized this, it was weird for me, but if i would have been on the 4 year plan at school, i would have graduated LAST spring. so a lot of my age friends aren't involved in pcm anymore because they've graduated already. which makes things weird for me, trying to hang out with girls younger than me, seek acceptance when there's such a large age gap.

also there's drama that just makes my stomach churn. of course in such a tight knit group like we are, stuff happens. and people date each other. some get dates more than others... anyway, that's been weird for me because i've never really been mad at anyone before and i don't really know how to do it.

i've also worked at the same coffee shop since i've moved here, a bit more than 2 years. it's called the morning times, right next to the restaurant called the raleigh times of which i've worked in for a year. the owner is greg hatem (google him, he's amazing). and he owns a huge chunk of downtown raleigh. he's known for revamping old buildings with keeping a lot of the original work, but trying to revive the downtown... and he's in love with obama. which makes it so fun to walk around downtown when there are obama posters in all of his buildings. obama came to the raleigh times this past summer and had a PBR (yes!). we have photos to document the event up in the restaurant. he also has made a huge projection on the side of one of his buildings with obama's face on it. haha. hoorah!

speaking of obama i'm 100% sure that he's going to win.

i'm going to head to the north caroline state FAIR tonight. i'm SO excited! fried oreos, apples, reeses cups?! rides to make me throw it all up?! corndogs, barbque, mm... high school art, the fattest pig, cutest goats, mini ponies!

please tell me how you all are doing. i still facebook like it's my job. send me a message?! what's going on in huntington with you all? or dc, or fayetteville, or ohio, or chicago, college?!?!
