Merry CHRISTmas,
Happy Birthday Jesus! Christmas was certainly different this year. God
really spoke the true meaning of Christmas into the hearts of our team.
He
taught us that it isn't about tradition, presents, or santa but its
about
family, God's blessings, and loving one another as Christ has loved us.
The past week God has really been working! The english classes on
Monday and
Tuesday went really well. We have some of the same people coming back.
They
are not only interested in english but somewhat interested in God. God
has
really made a spark of interest in their hearts. We are all very
excited to
see how it all unfolds.
Laura met a women, Aoy, at Pat Pong 3 weeks ago. She has been really
investing into a relationship with her. Everytime we go to Pat Pong she
always stops by the brothel she works at to say hello. She has been
keeping
in contact through the phone and internet. Speaking worth and love into
Aoy's life is doing major healing. Aoy is very interested in God but
feels
like she can't turn her back on her Buddhist family/religion. Please
pray
for God to show himself to her and for courage for Aoy to turn to God.
Last Wednesday a small group of us were able to go visit Monks at a
near by
temple. As soon as we arrived we were taken to the "number 1" Monk.
(the
funny things was they actually used that term). We talked to that monk
of a
while sharing both religions back and forth and then we were kindly
escorted
out to walk about the temple. We were some what disappointed, but God
had
other plans in store. As soon as we walked out a young 24 year old Monk
greeted us. His name was Sea. We ended up talking with him for an hour
and a
half about God and Heaven and all that God has done for us. Seemed like
he
was searching for something more in his life. He had only been a monk
for 7
months out of his 2 year commitment. Two days later 2 boys from the
group
got the chance to go back and bring him food and a bible. He said he
would
be glad to read it (the bible that is). We pray that God will speak to
him
through the bible, and that he doesn't see any other choice but to give
his
life to God.
Thursday the 21st we went to a very touristy part of Bangkok to do
ministry.
We passed out tracts and started to do worship in the middle of the
street.
Our performances continued as the group started to venture out and talk
to
the mass of people walking by and watching. All around it was a great
night.
As we headed to the vans the pastor of the church we came with told us
that
3 more ladies gave their lives to Jesus. What a blessing it is to be
able to
do God's work in such a simple way and yet still be able to touch
hearts.
Yet again than you for supporting our team in prayer. It's almost like
you
are on outreach with us because you are touching not only our team but
everyone in Thailand with your prayers.
We have been invited to go to Kanchanaburii for a week. If anyone
doesn't
know where that is.. it's in the Jungle! They are currently not taking
teams
but since the teams before built such a great relationship they are
taking
us anyway. We are going to be able to ride elephants, swim in
waterfalls,
and just be able to praise God in the jungle. How cool is God?
A prayer request goes out to you all. Please be praying for the health
of
our team.
Blessings to you,
San Francisco Fall DTS
