Yesterday was my 1 year anniversary of being in Philadelphia. Dan and I went out to dinner to celebrate. We figured we'd try and contribute to the economy a little. It's truly been one of the best years of my life so far. :) I wonder at what point I actually need to learn all these suburbs and streets? LOL.
Things are going really well. Our new room mate (finally) moves in this weekend. He seems like a really nice guy, and we're looking forward to having his money...not going to lie.
Verak-Nor.com goes down after tomorrow. Having canceled the sim over a month ago, Dan and I debated keeping it up for posterity, but we just couldn't justify $10 a month for posterity. ;) We've downloaded the whole thing, and we have a back up, just in case we ever decide to do anything with it in the future. But in truth we're really enjoying having Tuesday evenings free. On top of that, we've made some great real life friends as a result of the whole thing, so it's a win/win, even if the site and the group is going bye-bye. In the mean time, I am offering some assistance and advice to my old Star Trek RP group, so I guess I'm staying involved in RPing at least a little.
In World of Warcraft news, Dan and our group of friends are leveling up some "alts" (alts being what you play when you're bored with your main character, or just want something low key to play). I have a level 31 hunter, which I am enjoying quite a bit. Don't get me wrong, I love my mage (my "main"), but the hunter is fun. We just cleared Scarlet Monastery (in a low/mid 30s too!), which was a ridiculously good time. Now that our main tank is back from vacation though, we are hoping to get back on a regular Naxx raiding schedule.
The blog is also doing well. I hit 100,000+ unique visitors again this month. I'm not 100% sure I'll snag the top traffic prize, but we'll see.
Anyway... back to work. I just needed a break from working on these test scripts for our proprietary software. I'm soooo glad I don't work in IT where I have to do this for a living. But, at least I can add this to my list of experiences/skillz on my resume. ;)
