if I'm completely honest, I like music that I find awesome.

I'm a little upset now (but in a good way).

My half-brother sent me a CD, I guess as a thank-you for going to see my niece/plus I invited her to come along to England with me over the summer, so it's gonna be the two of us backpacking around and I'm going to have to be the most experienced person there. But I'm still really excited about the trip.

Anyway. My point is that my half-brother sent me this CD by Vampire Weekend, and I was actually pretty excited about it because I'm always open to new music  but I don't go out and look for stuff myself and I mean, hey, listening to more new music is good (especially if I have a hope of ever seeing a band I like in concert, and if Vampire Weekend are not new DON'T TELL ME I DON'T WANT TO HEAR LALALA). So I was listening and being like "yeah, hey, this is is actually quite nice," and then afterward whilst browsing my friendslist I find that some person is cleaning out their sendspace account or something and posted a HUGE thing of  classical music, and since I was grooving in my "let's find some new music" mood, I downloaded about half of her post, and went on to look at her Sendspace account list which includes a whole bunch of stuff I'd love to sample and....

In other words, I have been seriously distracted by music today and I mean I'm happy about it but I also have done absolutely no homework.
Also, my dad picked up Slaughterhouse Five from the library so now I can read it and feel like I'm working on being more well-read/participating in the blurbing book club.

(self-betterment? NO WAY.)

book, family, music
