I am the arbiter I know the facts.

Oh man. Summer is proving more busy than school ever was, although more delightful.

I have time to read. I'm retrying The Picture of Dorian Gray and other writings by Oscar Wilde and I've gotten farther, I think. Or maybe I haven't. It's hard to tell. Anyway, Oscar's penchant for snappy one-liners is obstinately obvious, at least in the first chapter, and it got tiring after I recognized the first three.

After that, it's the two books my dad checked out that I really wanted to read as well- Lost stories from G.K. Chesterton. I read the first one and it was very weird, but hopefully the others will prove better. After that is a rather hefty volume of The Complete Stories of Evelyn Waugh, which I want to read because HIM AND WODEHOUSE AND SAKI, OH MY. Of course I've barely ever read any of Saki's, but.. it's the summer. Hopefully I'll have time.

Driver's Ed goes well so far, despite the fact we're in the Lecture hall and therefore freezing cold- and somehow I'm developing a cramp right between my shoulders- But yes. I know a hell of a lot about signs, and not that much about driving. Oh. And road rage. I know about road rage.

Library volunteering goes very well indeed. After my initial orientation, which aside from me being allowed to lament the disgustingness of teenagers at 14 and 15 year olds, not to mention try and engage them in conversation and get thrown candy at by strange mousy librarians, was completely pointless. BUT then I actually got to my own library, started filling in some hours, and although I've only done two day's worth (so far) and about.. 3 hours.. It's still been really fun. the more I do this sort of thing the more I realize how my personality is really quite dog-like, or puppy like. SHELVING IS FUN. SO IS DE-SHELVING, AKA WEEDING. I LOVE DOING TASKS SET OUT FOR ME BY MY SUPERVISORS OR WHOEVER. No for srs, I like it. I think it's because I'm like a puppy and I'm eager to please and I do work set out for me and I don't get bored because I'm like LOLZ THIS IS IMPORTANT SO I FEEL COOL.

Yeah. It's satisfying. I'm sure the people who are teaching me this stuff think I'm weird as hell, but that's ok because I LOVE LIBRARIANS TOO FOR RLZ THEY ARE SO COOL.

college visiting next week. Heigh Ho Silver, away to: Bryn Mawr, St. John's College, William and Mary, and Haverford! Heigh ho, to... me having no idea whatsoever WHY I chose those schools (except for.. St. John's. AUGH. WHY CAN'T I CHOOSE THINGS.)

books, driver's ed
